I was looking at it and thought "wait, is the thing that some company ripped off the look of the pspgo?" then I saw Sony Ericsson on the side and was like
This is what the PSP Go should have been in the first place.
I hate the PSP Go's and this thing's design, they look ugly as hell
Looks ugly as shit (as stated above) but concept wise could be pretty fun.
Why the fuck does everything have to be a phone.
Oh wait, this is Sony. They hate customers now.
What is this abomination to the Sony Ericsson phone line, they are usually tough and easy to use (for me).
i spy android :haw:
I thought this was gonna be shit but the fact that it uses android instead of some shitty Sony OS makes me have some hope for this...
cool it has as much ram as my computer
You should take it as a reminder that it's time for an upgrade. 512 can't do much nowadays.
What are they gound to call it?
The PSP- oh wait
Do you guys remember Nokia N-Gage?
[editline]28th October 2010[/editline]
It was a gaming phone too.
What's with android phones and copying apple's specs(1Ghz, 512mb RAM)? They should try to go above and beyond.
You're an idiot, there have been multiple phones made prior to the iPhone 4 that had the 1Ghz/512mb RAM combo.
[editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
well then let me reword that
why are the specs so consistently 1ghz and 512mb?
Android works best with it, it's not exactly well optimized.
Calling bullshit on this
BUT PLAYSTATION PHONE HAS NO SERViCE
N-Gage 2.0
N-Gage 2.0
3.0*
It had a second version before it died and was transformed into the N-Gage app (and then died again and was merged with other Ovi services, so it's more 4.0)
Also this has other factors which will guarantee its failure.
Hope it plays PS1 games.
If Sony doesn't make it anyway, it should be able to run a PS1 emulator at least. It's Android, after all.
how the fuck is it a playstation phone if it's running android
just because it has ps buttons
[editline]27th October 2010[/editline]
my annual phone replacement is going to go:
apple android apple android apple android
see the pattern here
no ps3
By now you've seen our photos of the PlayStation Phone, and likely you've also heard the scattered reports of debunkings and cries of "fake!" -- it wouldn't be a scoop without it. Only here's the thing: the PlayStation Phone in the photos we ran last night, and the device reported on back in August is most definitely real. We're not saying that because we want to believe or because we're gingerly trying to nab pageviews: we're saying it because we know it to be true. This is a device which has been confirmed through multiple, trusted sources. And we're not just talking good tipsters -- some of our information comes from people much more closely connected to the project. Even since last night we've received more info about the phone -- learning that its codename is "Zeus," and it was last seen running Android 2.X (not 3.0, which we suspect will be the shipping version). It should be obvious by comparison of our original mockup to the real photos we've just uncovered that the handset we described in August is the same handset now fully revealed. Prior to last night, we had never seen an actual image of the phone. It should also be obvious that the device pictured in those photos is a prototype running early software (which would explain the A / B button mention in the photo above) with hardware that was likely hand-built, or at the very least created in a very small batch.
Based on what we've heard about the secrecy of this plan, it makes sense that even Sony's own employees wouldn't be privy to information on the phone, the marketplace, and the collaboration with Google. The alleged Sony response to the device makes that somewhat clear -- reports state that an employee originally told a publication that the images were fake, only to backtrack and deliver the standard corporate line that the company "doesn't respond to rumor and speculation." It's possible that whomever was originally questioned either didn't know of the device's existence, was lying about its existence, or simply had their response taken out of context. And that brings us to our point -- while there will be plenty of speculation on whether or not what we've shown you is real, we would never run the images or the information without a healthy sense that we were bringing you fact, and not fiction. We don't like to boast, but as the guys and girls who brought you the first pictures and review of the Nexus One, the first details and images of the Dell Venue Pro (aka Lightning), the first pictures of the new MacBook Air, the first photos of the iPad, and the first photos of the iPhone 4, we feel pretty confident in our abilities to deliver the goods. Of course, this story is just beginning -- so hold on tight.
its more a Sony Ericsson phone with playstation buttons then anything else.
Also i doubt this is backwards compatible with psp games (lack of joystick and Proccesor argitecture)
its more a Sony Ericsson phone with playstation buttons then anything else.

Those two holes in the middle are for joysticks, they haven't put them into that prototype yet.
I like the touch thingy in the middle
Those two holes in the middle are for joysticks, they haven't put them into that prototype yet.
That would be so much better.
But that still leaves proccesor argitecture incompatibility. (That site tell us it has a ARM proccesor.) as the PSP is MIPS. And i doubt it has the proccessor power to emulate a PSP.
Fuck that I'll stick with my N-Gage.
I really hope it gets released 2010.
who the fuck plays games often on your phone. Then your battery dies on your phone
defeating the purpose of a phone
No it wouldn't, it would cost $200 on contract.
We are talking about how much it would cost contract free.
Who buys a phone without a contract doesn't that ruin the whole point of it being a phone
that looks dumb
that looks dumb
No, not really. Sony has made good phones (Ericsons), the Android OS is good, and bringing more games to the Android is only a recipe for fun.
