Pretty ridiculous, seeing as nobody morally objects to coffee shops or gas stations. Has it occurred to you that some people don't approve of pot but are willing to permit it, and that by having a zillion The Pot Shoppes across the street, you might tick them off? The same happened with Amsterdam. Pot was made legal... now every damn tourist goes there just to toke it up, and they've actually considered banning it again just for that reason.
It's not like Amsterdam, weeds still illegal and it's not openly sold as the main purpose of a store, it's sold in coffee shops and the like. Banning them was to try and ban drug tourism but Amsterdam has said that they're more than happy with it, and won;t have laws forced on them by the government when it effectively only effects them.
my uncle has his grow operation set up and ready for whenever he can get a retail license this has been his dream ever since he was 16, he told me
Its been my dream since I was 16 too :v:
Look at this thread If i read this back in 2006 i wouldn't believe this thread and call everyone in it a delusional clown
which it won't be. the risk factor is why the price of something that's so easily grown is so high. it won't be higher quality either, because legitimate growers will have access to far better facilities, and also have far more workers that are actually passionate about weed (not just crims looking to make cash) who experiment with breeding different strains and shit like that and actually want to make a good product
there is a very heavy tax placed upon marijuana similar to what our state is placing on alcohol. it might end up cheaper to buy weed from the corner dealer still. not that the average dealer is necessarily pushing for the cartels either around here. since we have medical marijuana there is a very large black market of "dispensary" and "medical" weed around here. a lot of the stuff is grown locally. this is great because it doesn't fuel the cartel wars, and also because cartel weed is of a particularly low quality except from hawaii and british columbia.
How much can you get for ten bucks in WA? Gram wise that is.
Well low quality bud is 10$ a gram, 15 mid, and 20 high, of course there will always be those kind of shops that don't care about their customers and charge 15 for low. Hopefully WA becomes a great success, so we can ditch the "medical" requirement.
a lot of the stuff is grown locally.
yep, my family's growing like 20 plants or something, not sure exactly
yep, my family's growing like 20 plants or something, not sure exactly
i have a few friends who have around 45 plants each. There's going to be up to around 10 stores within 30 miles of me, I believe. Too bad I don't use marijuana.
Good Even though it's legal, I'm sure it's still coming from the cartels at the moment
It comes from within the US, mostly. Cartel weed only really makes it to the states where it's not legal to an extent. In medical and decriminalized states it's really hard to find anything but homegrown weed.
Weed in WA is pretty cheap. Like, it's not $5 for a shit ton, but its totally reasonable already.
10 dollars per gram is the usual. The only people who'll charge more/less than that is dispensaries. God in the Dominican Republic it was like 3 dollars for 2 grams. Not good quality but holy fuck so cheap
Honestly, I love weed and stuff, but you hear about all these places that legalize it end up getting a weed shop on, like, every corner and it's understandable that people will be pissed.
They have designated areas setup for the shops. They can't setup outside them, at least in Seattle. Around here, they'll probably sell the weed in smoke shops where no one who would get upset would go anyways.
Cool, maybe if weed does become legal, we can focus on criminals making/selling hard drugs like meth or cocaine. Since Marijuana is so popular, legality could seriously take a chunk out of the illegal drug industry. (Anyone feel like listening to Ziggy Marley while high?)
yep, my family's growing like 20 plants or something, not sure exactly
I know of a whole warehouse out in the hills somewhere. :v: I know a guy who got raided by the DEA 2 years ago too. He had a girl at his house watching his dogs, so he wasn't there, and he ended up fleeing town for a year.
Bit of a pity they are 86 short.
Honestly, I love weed and stuff, but you hear about all these places that legalize it end up getting a weed shop on, like, every corner and it's understandable that people will be pissed.
Who the hell gets pissed off because a bunch of shops that they're never going to visit and will never impact them in any way open up near them? "Oh man I hate looking at these Marijuanas shops! We should re-ban it because I'm sick of looking at them!"

never knew we had so many hardened cartel drug lords on this forum

They were only open on weekdays and they closed at like 6:00. Prices weren't great, but they weren't super high. Last election, we voted to throw out the State run Liquor system, and you can now buy it at pretty much any store the size of a small grocery store, HOWEVER. There is now a tax on liquor that comes out to like 27 1/2%
I wish it was super legal here so I can play some games and watch tim and eric high without you know the risk of fucking my life over

honestly I'm thankful my town isn't very populated relative to king county (even though it is second most populated in the state) because king county singlehandedly swung the vote for R-74 (gay marriage) from about 75% against 25% for to 55% for 45% against and got it passed. I-502 (weed!) got passed by a larger margin, mostly in thanks to king county. yay seattleites (and bellevue, and renton, and tacoma...)! (and it all goes well I will be there at UW in a year!)
I voted for both, and I'm in Clark. :v:
yeah but i was saying that over here, illegal weed is around the same price as legal beer, and legal beer would cost more to manufacture, so if they had the same taxes legal weed would be cheaper than legal beer, making it cheaper than illegal weed
that still doesn't make any sense unless you know exactly what percentage of the weed's price is caused by illegality. let's say a beer costs $10 and a gram of (illegal)weed costs $10. in scenario a the legal status of weed doubles the price of the final product. beer has a 25% sales tax on it. after a bit of algebra you can figure out that legal weed with the same taxes as beer is equal to $6.25. but in scenario b, legal status only increases the price by 10%. that means legal weed is now $11.36, making the illegal weed cheaper. and btw beer taxes are not the same as liquor taxes in my state. liquor is very heavily taxed. it doesn't matter if you can get "a score" of marijuana for the same price as beer, because the same taxes are not going to be imposed upon it in my state.
What matters is if you want to be like Mac drizzle and buy your weed at the store.
this is good
Bit of a pity they are 186 short.
uh so 520 omg come on jeep-eep
you guys get cheap weed wow for quality shit the standard price around here is 20 a gram
uh so 520 omg come on jeep-eep
Only thing better than 420 weed shops is 520 weed shops.
