and the wall....COMES TUBLING DOWN!
3 very close men in trump's circle in one day
So this is for real this time? No more half-assed "SURELY he cant WRIGGLE HIS WAY out of THIS ONE," this is the first step to something actually happening for a change?
Personally I don't think we'll see Trump out of the White House before they find something that implicates him directly.
PAPADOPOULOS claimed his interactions with an overseas professor, whom PAPADOPOULOS understood to have substantial connections to Russian Gvt. officials, occurred before PAPADOPOULOS became a foreign policy advisor to the Campaign. PAPADOPOULOS acknowledged that the professor had told him that the Russians possessed “dirt” on then-candidate Clinton in the form of “thousands of emails,” but stated multiple times that he learned that information prior to joining the campaign.
In truth and fact, however, PAPADOPOULOS learned he would be an advisor to the Campaign in early March, and met the professor on or about March 14, 2016; the professor only took an interest in PAPADOPOULOS because of his status on the campaign; and the professor told PAPADOPOULOS about the “thousands of emails” on or about April 26, 2016, when PAPADOPOULOS had been a foreign policy advisor to the campaign for over a month.
Hoooooly shit. I know I'm a bit late, but honestly I can't believe it's coming to light so fast.
He plead guilty to the charges:
1) Confirming the Clinton emails came from Russia
2) Confirming that Trump campaign intentionally used email 'dirt' knowingly from Russia
3) Confirming that Trump campaign lied about meeting with Russia about the emails
Literally the most damning evidence possible.
"The FBI interviewed defendant (papadopoulos) again on Feb 16th. On Feb 17th, defendant deactivated his Facebook account. On Feb 23rd, defendant began using a new cell phone number. On July 27th, defendant was arrested."
Hmm... July 27th he was arrested...? Why didn't I hear about that in the news...

Also the same day as the No-Knock Pre-Dawn raid for Manafort if I recall correctly.

Impeachment is a political decision, not a legal one. Articles of impeachment were brought against Clinton for telling a single lie, and that lie didn’t even have anything to do with the office or national security or really anything at all of consequence.
All that’s required for impeachment is a majority in the house. And with the GOP’s failure to pass any real, tangible legislative victories in 2017, they’re at risk for losing their majority even without taking any of today’s news into consideration. In the wake of these bombshells, it’s practically inevitable that they will suffer greatly in the midterms because a) they’re defending a corrupt and possibly treasonous administration, and b) defending a corrupt and possibly treasonous administration takes time and attention away from enacting their agenda, further compounding their problem.
If Democrats retake the house in 2018, and we need to do everything in our power to make that happen, Donald Trump is fucking GONE. He has absolutely zero friends on the other side of the aisle. All of his insults, attacks, and spite will be repaid a hundred fold.

No one knew, the FBI kept it completely secret and obtained a court order keeping it sealed until today - presumably they didn't want other targets to know that Papadopoulos had flipped
Here's the unsealing order on the Papadopoulos case, from today:

Papadopoulos is such a fun name to say

The more I read the worse it's looking for those involved. Can't wait for the movie in 10 years.
Weren't there some people here who toxx'd that Trump would never make it to the end of his first term? They must be feeling pretty safe right now.
Pretty sure I toxx'd that Trump wins the election, and never mentioned anything about impeachment or terms.
Smurfy was the same but Hillary instead.
Apparently there were some good lines from reporters during the press conference:
Reporter - "Did the president remember the meeting he had with Papadaolous, I would expect he would given his 'great memory'"
I love whoever this was

Sealed because obviously he's lead mueller to manaford and co.
I think you're absolutely right, and have been saying the same thing for quite some time now. The focus will shift, among the cult, from denying the collusion to defending it as a necessary and patriotic decision to embrace our friendship with Russia and save us from the Evil Warmonger Hillary Clinton.
I can't even fathom the mental gymnastics it would take to justify that shift in opinion when all their defenders have been trying to say all week that it was Hillary colluding with Russia not Trump, even Trump himself has been trying to deflect it onto Hillary. If they try and say that collusion is justified only if their side does it I then there really is no end to their delusions.

I mean, there isn't. If and when evidence of collusion is leaked or released to the public, I hope that a majority of Trump supporters will actually realize their mistake. But I doubt that'll happen without the government (including the judiciary) justifying action against literal fake news by reinstating some restrictions on the freedom of the press (like the Fairness Doctrine that was struck down under Reagan).
The GOP isn't a party of principles. They have no unifying values other than opposition. Logical (and moral) consistency doesn't matter to them - only that they win. It's a gut emotional reaction to victory against some invented evil enemy - liberals, gays, muslims, BLM, SJWs, commies, leftists, atheists, whatever. That's why you see approval of drone strikes skyrocket among Republican voters under Trump versus under Obama. That's why you see polls about the state of the economy immediately jump 60+ points positive only weeks after Trump is sworn in to office - and only among Republicans. The Republican propaganda machine has fed fear and emotion for so long and with such intensity that it's the only thing that attaches the base to the party.
The entire GOP machine is lumbering along on fear, spite, and hatred. If you read Goldwater's Conscience of a Conservative and compare it to the modern GOP, you'll realize that they have no conscience left. There is no guiding moral principle. There is no vision of an ideal society. There is no political philosophy directing policy. There is only the enemy. They threaten our way of life. They are evil. They want to make your kids gay. They want to take away your guns. They want to destroy the family. They want to kill Christmas. They want to get rid of religion. They want to take away your family doctor. They want to get rid of police. They want riots in the street. They want everyone to be equally poor. They want to get rid of white people. They want to eliminate everything you hold dear.
It's an effective way to motivate people to vote. But it abandons the principles of our democracy. It rejects compromise and debate to find a solution to a specific policy issue. Instead of establishing justice, it protects injustice. Instead of insuring domestic tranquility, it incites domestic conflict. Instead of promoting the general welfare, it promotes hatred and anger in our society. At this point, the GOP doesn't even deserve the label "fascist." Fascists have an ideology. The GOP's propaganda has become its ideology. They're not fascists, they're self-interested moral cynics without an ounce of decency or respect for the founding principles of our American democracy.

I made a rather specific toxx: If Trump Jr's statements over the summer in particular led to his arrest and the future indictment of people much closer to the top. Looks like that isn't the way Mueller is going, so I think it's out of the question.

Little toxxes like that in a row is like a game of Russian Roulette, pretty interesting.
