That's beside the point though. Microtransations in subscription based games is just a greedy money grab.
I'm ashamed to admit this but I actually like some of the EoC stuff, especially ranged and melee combat. It really spiced things up.
Doesn't mean that it isn't laggy and buggy as shit though, the general instability of RS is pretty bothering.

They said that they needed the money for future updates, because so many people have stopped their membership.
These updates include an even newer engine, runetek 7, in HTML5.
Look at the difference (prototype, some things don't show up like parts of the interface)

Also the bestiary actually got released yesterday, it is kind of a demo showing off this new engine. This update will get a beta in a month or 2.

I'm not really sure, I made sure WebGL was enabled in about:config and spoofed my user agent and it worked fine.

Looks like the highest tier is only 500k now, which is fantastic. We're at 195.2K right now, I'm not really so sure we'll hit 500k but I certainly hope we do. 250k seems pretty likely.
You know it says no extra membership fees, does that mean you still have to pay the original member fee to play 2007? Or will it be totally free?

You will have to pay the standard membership fee, without shelling out extra money in order to have access to the 2007 servers. For example, if we only get the 250k tier, we'll be paying the current membership fee +$5

It says underneath "Our desire....over 750,000 votes". That's still the highest tier.
