Yikes, you'd need to pay $10-20 a month to have access to content that's nearly a decade old. I like RuneScape, but not that much.
They'll allow F2P if they get 750k votes? Why not let anyone vote then? Especially as it's already over the 50k threshold to actually bring it back
The problem with having to pay for this is the fact most people that are looking to play this for nostalgia sake are now adults. We have better uses for our money. I would have played it now and again if it was free.
Got my old Runescape buddies back together for 2007scape

I still don't get it.
I think they're trying to imply that the armor has blotches on it and looks like the trees...
What do you guys think about this idea? I'm personally against it, but I want to hear what others think about it.
I'm against, it will feel like just another damn private server.
I think they should try and keep it 100% old school. Sure there may be a shitload of people training on cows and you may never get a chance to sell your old armor under the spam of everyone else selling, but that's exactly how it was when I was playing back then.

It was a really social game and you had to go out there and barter for what you wanted. The GE ruined that social aspect of the game. 5 years ago, if you wanted a dragon chainbody, you had to go and work for it. Now you can just go to the GE, put the market price and log out and wait, there's no fun in that. Not to mention the excitement when you suddenly have that d chain sitting in your inventory. Used to love that feeling, never had it again after using the GE.

Good.
For some reason I get this vibe that a lot of the Jagex Mods are as eager for the 2007 servers as the community is.
Apparently they have been working hard to get the servers up this friday night already, as they say in their live Q&A thing

Only way I'd play is if it gets to the required number of votes for it to be F2P
In my opinion, keep the GE but remove the set prices. Boom, no standing around and no price manipulation risk.
Everyone starting back at level 3 is going to be ridiculous. People will have to get 99smith/mine somehow for others to play properly, I just feel that the economy and the game is going to be extremely difficult for probably the first year.

I see this as a good thing. I'm actually not too interested in combat so chances are I will do a lot of skilling to start with. The fact there will be a complete and utter lack of an economy would actually work in my advantage especially when selling raw materials. I have a feeling a lot of people will be doing this. It will be great to actually be part of the large group of people who actually get an economy going. Yeah it will be rocky for a long time, but it's like this in any game and we'll all get past it eventually. I'm just wanting to see what will happen to the guy who gets the first ever abyssal whip. I bet they'll cost like 50M+ when there's only a couple of hundred. If people are gonna go combat, I bet most of them will be having a massive go at Slayer simply because of this.
I personally think it will be very interesting to see how things play out without any kind of economy.
It's gonna be more fun than the main game for sure realistically speaking, will we ever fulfill the 750k mark?

It just takes a little more effort compared to just buying the full sets from other players.
It's gonna be more fun than the main game for sure realistically speaking, will we ever fulfill the 750k mark?
216k votes in 5 days. At the rate votes have been coming in, there will be around 600k votes. Hopefully the rate increases as Jagex and players advertise it more.
three days and its already 20% i think this may work
I was right they almost did it now
Apparently I have 83,000 Loyalty Points. What do? Edit: Wow I looked at my ban history I was such an ass.

well when does the poll end?
