My feels just exploded when I read this.
This game was my childhood.
I will play the shit out of it if it goes through.
It will easy get the 50,000 as that's roughly the amount of people that still play it.
Then Jagex will make a dime charging those poor fuckers $15 to play. Then when they get bored of it (most of them probably haven't been playing since 2007 and will find it as a step back) they'll get rid of it again and would've managed to make a shit ton of money for doing basically nothing.
That's why the amount of people that need to vote is so bullshit. They want to charge for this shit, not give it out for free. It'll never get to 500,000 and they know it.
Running Barrens or whatever it was called was cool when I was a kid.
Then I grew up by a couple of years, and ran bots, and that was cool.
Now, meh.

GE was TOO convenient.
It removed a lot of the social interactions in the game.
It also made it incredibly easy to get anything, and as a result, a lot of things dropped in price.

and overall, prices of everything go up because of inflation. ess is about 100-120 gold right now, but it was 30-40 when i played.
You can still be social easily with most skills
except woodcutting

Also for many old players quitting, remember 2007 was 5 years ago. Alot changes in your life in that time. If you're a highschool freshman you would now have a job or be in college, So I think that's a big factor in old members leaving.
If they brought back the old version of the game, I would still play the shit out of it.
The only reason I don't still play is F2P is boring as hell, and none of my friends still play, so P2P isn't worth it, imo.

Merching in Fally was quite fun IMO
The inflation, as it is now, was totally warped by shit updates, like the Wildy update they did where loads of GP entered the game w/o reason
to little too late. They need to address issues in the gameplay, lack of money sinks, too mich grind etc instead of trying to appeal to old players who grew up and quit 6 years ago.

I joined in late 2007, pretty much just when the wilderness and free trade was removed. I was young and didn't know what to do, so I didn't use the wilderness and such whilst it was still as it is, would love for there to be 500,000 votes. :v:

It's sort of iconic for me as it was one of the first RuneScape videos I saw back in the day and it really got me into PKing.
I really hope the poll gets a decent amount of votes. I really want to experience this again. Maybe I'm wearing nostalgia goggles right now but hey, we'll see.
Thinking back on it the main reason I enjoyed this game ~2007 was because my friends also played it and we'd walk around and do stupid shit and then talk about it at school the next day.
Don't really think that's going to be happening anymore, it'd be cool to get back on for a few days to look back at all the things I used to enjoy doing but I seriously doubt I'd be willing to start playing again.

Yeah, i know, theres apparently a bit under 7 million active players, but the thing is you need to have paid membership to vote, and I dont think there are that many members that are going to vote.
