Ah yeah Zezima. I've seen him around a few times, funnily enough when he wasn't being followed by a crowd. I never really bothered him though. 13 Year old me was too scared of this almighty pixel god before me.
I remember runescape, some really kind guy gave me a really valuable battleaxe, sold it, and made a house the 1 month I was a member, then I stopped playing for a year or 2 :c I think my accounts from before 2007, not sure though
Rose-colored glasses, imo. I think it's always been really grindy and dull. My 12-14 year old brain was just too dumb to realize it at the time.
This x1000. Even when I was younger I never saw the point of Runescape, because it was literally just the ultimate XP grind; the majority of the game is repeating the same actions over and over to make your XP go up so you can repeat different actions over and over. The whole game could be simulated with the skills on the right and a button on your screen for each skill that has a delay and makes the XP go up when you click it. I used to play RPGWO from 2002 - 2005, which is 2D and only had a playerbase of a few thousand, but it was amazingly good in that it had a very elaborate crafting/magic system and you could buy 20x20 plots of land and literally build your house however you wanted it. Now that I think about it that game was really far ahead of its time, it was like a more elaborate Star Wars Galaxies, and the fact that it was 2D made it easier to pump out content for.
The 11 year old me would have been so proud. Seriously I spent so many hours on that game, I even tried submitting badly drawn armour ideas. :v: If this did get the votes then it would be crazy to go back and see my old account, but unfortunately I grew out of MMO-loving phase a long time ago so I'd only be going on for the nostalgia. Oh well, still cool. v:v:v
FUCK YES [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] It's a members only vote... It's ruined already.
Ah yeah Zezima. In fact, he's actually fallen all the way down to 104th. Wow, how time has passed since I last touched Runescape.
Wait, there are people who want to play an outdated by 6 years, version of a game? Whats the logic behind that?
Maybe people liked runescape more in 2007 than they do the current version. They did not like the direction it went, this allows those people to enjoy the game at a time they loved it.

Oh man I just remembered Fally Massacre I will laugh hard if that happens again in the 07 servers.
Oh man I just remembered Fally Massacre I will laugh hard if that happens again in the 07 servers.
man, those days were so good yet so bad and sad.
One of the only games on the market that doesn't force you to be a hero. There should be more sandbox games imo.
I remember playing this when it used 2d sprites. I remember finding full black lying in a pile in the wildly and later crying because I lost everything when I accidentally attacked someone. Also standing on some spot where a dagger spawned and farming it by switching servers.
I remember quitting Runescape after I played it for a long time, Got a lot of stuff, and was rich, until I finally died from a prison guard in one hit, and I just turned off my PC right after that
I have 6 months of screenshots from SwiftSwitch/SwiftKit. Nothing that goes back that far though.
I remember participating in so many clan wars in Runescape, as well as fighting just north of Varrock, and just pking random people in general. I remember doing large boss kills such as the Kalphite Queen and the King Black Dragon. I remember in my very first KBD kill, I got the special head thing that you can stuff and place in your home. I remember massive house parties and stuff, especially the boxing arena and stuff. I miss old Runescape so much. I was hoping 06scape/2007 Scape would actually become something, but instead it was all a scam.
Oh man I just remembered Fally Massacre I will laugh hard if that happens again in the 07 servers.
Holy shit nostalgia. That house party was awesome, until we all got kicked and all hell let loose. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline] Ah the video is gold, everyone shouting "BANK YOUR ITEMS". I've never found myself in it though...
I was actually friends with Durial for a little bit. Don't ask how because it's a long-ass story and I don't really remember all of it. He made a new account for a bit and just ended up quitting. Also the original of that video with Planet Hell was better since the music actually fit.
so people with nostalgia glasses on want an older version of a mmo grinding simulator, because they think it will be less of an mmo grinding simulator.
so people with nostalgia glasses on want an older version of a mmo grinding simulator, because they think it will be less of an mmo grinding simulator.
It was pretty fun to play back in the day, this may not last too long but i hope it gets enough votes to not be members only
so people with nostalgia glasses on want an older version of a mmo grinding simulator, because they think it will be less of an mmo grinding simulator.
People want to play because of nostalgia goggles, but I don't think anyone will argue that it isn't mostly a grinding simulator.
In my honest opinion, the only people who think that Runescape is a complete "grinding simulator" are the people who have never played as a Member. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of grinding involved, but there's so much more to it, especially as a Member.
so people with nostalgia glasses on want an older version of a mmo grinding simulator, because they think it will be less of an mmo grinding simulator.
Uh, no. I want it because I want to experience the game again back as it was before all the updates. I want to do all the old quests again, see World 2 Falador be packed to the brim of people merchanting etc. I still remember where they sold Abby Whips, Barrows Gear, runes etc. Hey, maybe some of us do have rose tinted goggles on. But in my honest opinion I think it'll be worth experiencing again.
I honestly miss the really old Runescape from 2004. I started in around 2003 and honestly when things were simple it was a lot more fun. All of my friends would be still playing if it was just like Runescape classic. Doubt they will ever bring that back though.
I remember playing runescape a lot around 2006-2007, I wonder how much my items are worth now.

"Old School Runescape" will forever be "Runescape 2" for me. I started back in the day of "Runescape Classic".
