Goddamn it.
And Mess with my healthcare oh hell no
Cite a source. I haven't seen Republicans calling healthcare being socialist in years, nor have I seen a widespread use of calling their opponents "obama supporters"
You're also implying that Democrats and Liberals don't call Republicans nasty names and try to invalidate their ideals based on bullshit propaganda.
AHA + Obamacare was enough, but the democrats have also stood on the graves of those injured in recent shooting in an attempt to push unwanted gun control through, lobbied incessently for gun control when it's obvious it's unwanted, and attacked 2nd amendment supporters as if they're babykilling left-wing gun nut psychos.
Those demographics make up the majority of our population. Doesn't matter what negative connotation you seem to feel is necessary to tag onto them. Majority rules, always has, always will. That's what this system is founded on.
All of your other quotes imply that Republicans do things that Democrats don't.
Both parties call the other names. Both parties cock-block and fillibuster and do whatever they can to fuck the other party over. Both parties are 100% selfish and will never compromise because that means they lost and the other party won. Both parties are fucking infantile babies.
But IMO, at least the Republicans don't attack one of our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms every goddamn time they get in office.
this is just my state, was running for fucking days before elections, others pinning her as an obamma supporter because she was seen with a picture hugging him at an event.
its one thing to make names for opponets, but its another to act like the president is some kind of literal demon that saying his name makes the devil appear out of no where to take your soul. Republicans have officially linked Obama to Satan just because hes their opponent.
there's plenty of sources showing most of the republican party calling AHA socialist because its public healthcare:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2013/10/22/oreilly-obamacare-part-socialist-vision-america
http://www.conservativecrusader.com/articles/obamacare-quintessential-socialism
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/27/obamacare-socialism-louie-gohmert-steve-king_n_1383973.html
So suddenly its okay for this massive group of voters who are out of touch of current issues and lived in an echochamber of bullshit is really good for the rest of the country?
And what rights? obummer takin ur guns? Personally I think actual fucking human rights are a much bigger issue (which republican states keep shitting on unless youre white christian straight male) than whether or not you can walk around with a fucking carbine on your back for self protection or fun. And stood on their graves? You mean put down more regulations to prevent shit like that from happening again. And don't even fucking sit there high and mighty saying the left is calling the right baby killing bastards when the right is acting like Obama is going to break their fucking door down and take away all their weapons.
gosh america is a scary place
Nothing they tried to "put down" would have prevented the shit that happened from happening again.
They don't want to address the underlying issue, which is a lack of education and mental healthcare availability. Instead they think knee-jerk reactions and banning anything to do with it will fix the problem when it won't.
Also you've got your terminology wrong.
"The Left" are conservatives (i.e. Republicans) "The Right" are liberals. (i.e. Democrats)
And they sure as fuck showed they could and would after the Boston Bombing
gosh america is a scary place
I feel safer in America than I would in jolly old England.
A replacement should be created before this one removed. Don't repeal it if you're not willing to replace it with something better.
Democrats can be just as bad as republicans don't get me wrong, but republicans have literally no game plan other than criticizing Obama and being crybabies about it.
You say that, but what you really mean is that they don't have a plan that you like. Bush W. tried to push for personal health accounts, for example.
I'll identify as a Democrat and I'll openly admit that the healthcare bill is fucked up.
I wish some politician (and I think someone has already) would propose a bill that would remove some of the provisions that are highly controversial, and introduce a National Single-Payer Healthcare System. aka, healthcare done right. Of course, this wouldn't strip or deny people of their private insurance if they wanted to keep it.
Honestly if the healthcare bill wasn't as gutted as it was to feed to the corps it wouldn't be half bad
Love all the republican bashing going on here.
Obamacare either needs to be repealed or completely fucking overhauled.
It literally does not work at all. I've worked at a doctors office for the last 4 summers and as each summer goes by you see more and more people being unable to afford their copays, insurance and prescriptions. Doctors hate going to work and many veterans are retiring.
Above all this, the people who need healthcare the most are the ones who can't afford it because they are paying for the people who do not need it and exploit the broken system.
Healthcare was in trouble from the start but now its completely fucking dysfunctional all because the retards in office didn't fucking READ what they were signing into law! Had they taken the time to read (dont blame them cuz its 1000s of pages or something) they would have realized "well wait a minute this doesnt sound right."
this fucking government.
Can someone enlighten me why it's not working
The problem IS the corporations and as long as they're as strong and profitable as they are we will never NEVER get socialized medicine.
Here's a glimpse at how fucking profitable these companies are:
Pharmaceutical:
Pfizer: $22bn/yr
Johnson & Johnson: $13bn/yr
Bristol-Myers Squibb: $10.5bn/yr
Merck & Co: $6.5bn/yr
Abbott Laboratories: $6bn/yr
Eli Lilly & Company: $5bn/yr
Health Insurance:
Wellpoint: $2.5bn/yr
CIGNA: $1.5bn/yr
Aetna: $2bn/yr
Humana: $1.5bn/yr
United Healthcare: $5.5bn/yr
These numbers are their NET PROFITS per year, and this is only a small number of the AMERICAN ONLY companies. There are hundreds of American health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies and their profits are insane.
They will never give that up and they will spend hundreds of millions lobbying to keep it that way.
[editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
I mean for fucks sake Pfizer makes $22,000,000,000 a year in net profit. Twenty-Two god damn million dollars a year.
That's about one and a half million minimum wage full time jobs. 3/4 of a million $30,000/yr salaried jobs.
Their net profit per year is literally more money than NASA gets in their budget
I think you would have to be naive to say that the ACA isn't heavily flawed, but is there actually any evidence the republicans would actually brings in anything better if they repeal it?
Also, would hospitals and whatever actually reduce their costs if was repealed? I mean it sounds to me like what would actually happen is that they would stay roughly the same price, so the cost of treatment would be passed onto insurers (and there the consumer) and drive healthcare costs even further through the roof.
Poor people use food stamps to buy frozen dinners, soda, candy, and chips.
They don't buy lobster because they don't know how to cook.
They also trade away food stamps for half their value to other people to get things like cigarettes, pot, alcohol, or gasoline.
As someone who lost his job and got food stamps, seeing what other people bought with them made me sick, and I'd like to hope people seeing what I bought with them gave them some hope.
When I was on food stamps I bought things like:
-on sale cuts of meat
-rice
-vegetables (usually canned or frozen because they were cheaper than fresh)
-fruit
-milk
-eggs
-cheese
-lunch meat and cheese
-pickled/preserved vegetables and peppers
-whole grain cereals
I allowed myself ONE treat a week with food stamps and just about every week it was a pint of Publix brand chocolate milk because it was delicious and inexpensive.
I think one time I used my weekly treat to get a small box of off brand rice krispy treats
I never bought shit like soda, candy, chips, frozen pre-made meals, etc.
I don't like how people use food stamps for junk food either and fast food (yes, fast food chains can accept food stamps) but for the majority of poor people using them, they have really no other choice. Often they live in food deserts where the nearest market that contains produce is over an hour away via public transport. People have to eat and while junk food is terrible to eat every day, its the only way some people get food.

Distance from food is no fucking excuse to buy garbage and junk. If you can spend a half hour going to a store to buy soda and chips and frozen dinners, you can spend half an hour going to a store to buy fruits and veggies and meat and rice and beans and staples

It depends on how it's done, but under the right circumstances (i.e. budgetary constraints, regulation, etc) it would force costs lower.
Junk food is cheaper too. We're not even poor or on food stamps but my mother buys them over actual food because it always seems to be on sale.
this is why a lot of people dont take republicans seriously/hate that party
sure, a few rotten x doesnt ruin the bunch, but they keep getting re-elected/elected, so what am I supposed to think about the party?

Junk food is only cheaper if you don't cook. Homemade food will always be the cheapest.

Bernie Sanders already has.
vote bernie 2016, don't let hillary get it with no effort.
oh plus he wants money out of politics, a simpler tax system so companies won't avoid taxes, and a huge federal jobs program to get people working on roads and infrastructure so people get back to work.

I'd be ok voting for a liberal republican
I don't buy it. With good prep making a family meal doesn't take that long at all.
Where do you get the time to "prep" a family meal if you're working two jobs (and possibly weekends) to make ends meet? Time you get at home will be spent either preparing for your next shift, or trying to do something that doesn't make you want to straight up kill yourself. In which time you can just bung some shit in an oven and leave it for 30 minutes without having to worry about it.

The vast majority of people don't work two full time jobs.

Most people are going to be out of the house for 12 or even more hours a day depending on their method of transportation and how far their job or jobs are.
Race has nothing to do with it.
The vast majority of people don't work two full time jobs.
We're talking about people in poverty, there's a higher chance of it happening, it's a case that must be considered unless something is done to try and stop it being necessary.
And even then, working 9-5 jobs in menial labour or service isn't exactly great for the morale of a person or their drive to do stuff when they get home. Relaxing a bit or hanging around with their kids is probably higher up there. Food prep might not take centuries, but it still detracts from what little time people with little income get to just sit down.
Junk food is cheaper too. We're not even poor or on food stamps but my mother buys them over actual food because it always seems to be on sale.
Junk food is NOT cheaper, and it doesn't give you anywhere near the nutritional bounty that actual cooked fucking food gives you. The fact that you even THINK that this is true is mind boggling.

Wrong.
I lived alone and worked 58+ hours a week when I had a job and I still had time to cook not only breakfast and dinner, but food specifically to take to work for lunch.
Cooking is easy and fast. If you think you don't have the time to cook you're lazy.

If you're working two jobs, chances are you're working maybe 40-50 hours a week, part time at both jobs.
First off you need to find something better and stop clinging to the notion that you HAVE to work two jobs to make ends meet. Market yourself better.
Second, it takes half an hour to make a decent meal. More time, but less time involved, if you have a crock pot.
You have time to cook. You're just lazy and have a defeatist attitude.

So get your fucking kids involved and MAKE IT fun.
I love cooking. It's not a chore for me because it's fun. It's a way to express myself that lets me EAT the fruits of my labor not just look at them. And most kids think cooking is fun too, because it's something that is traditionally restricted to grown ups and holy shit they're getting to do it oh my god this is so cool.
I loved cooking with my mom when I was a kid. It was great. She showed me so much and I was spending time with her, and thanks to that, I know how to cook well as an adult.
There is no excuse.

Not even what I said, but good job trying to put words in my mouth.
What I was implying is that the notion that you have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet is bullshit. You don't. There are plenty of higher paying jobs out there, even for people without marketable skills.
I know for a fact that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint sales reps (in actual stores) get paid really well and they don't require experience to start. Not a people person? Construction is always looking for work and they pay pretty well! Don't like manual labor? There are thousands upon thousands of call center jobs you could work at that pay surprisingly well.
