Five Crazy Nights. That is all. Thank god it won't come to that if physics actually works.
i think this would make a good cheap movie.
Everyone thought a lego movie would be retarded but warner bros proved that wrong
Fair enough, stranger things have happened before.

Admittedly I thought it was one of the stupidest things that has been done in a long while, finally watched it a few weeks back and its absolutely charming, hilarious, and a pretty fun film to watch. Thanks for reminding me that they also did that movie, lifts my hopes a little.
Imagine if they get pewdiepie or markpiler as the security guard
As dumb as parts of the series was I loved the tone of the underlying lore and of the Purple Man, so I'm excited for this
It doesn't sounds like a terrible idea...
I wouldn't compare this effort to the Lego movie. The Lego people more than likely had a lot more leverage, and therefore more control, over how that movie presented Lego.
I'd be surprised if Cawthon has more involvement than cashing the check. They will want him to promote the movie, but it's not going to be like 50 Shades where the person who created the franchise is calling the shots.
I am actually extremely excited about this....but skeptical. I really want to see more lore. FNAF's story is clever, and it needs to be explored.
Bruce Campbell as Phone Guy, please.

the guard will be telling his boss "AT NIGHT THE ANIMATRONICS COME TO LIFE"
"suuuuuuuuuuuure they do" and then wacky music plays as the lights go out
ben stiller nightguard confirmed
The only problem I have with a movie adaption is that the main horror of the games comes from anticipation of the jumpscares. Until you get jumpscared once, Five Night's at Freddy's is hardly scary at all. You can't really do that in a movie without overusing them.
I would see it solely if it had Ben Stiller has the night guard. Ben Stiller has the best god damn facial expressions and seeing him react to sentient animatronics would be great.
I was thinking about making a Ben Stiller night guard joke, making it Night at the Museum 4, but Bruce Campbell was way more important.
It better be like that doom movie
Why
Adam sandler can get Grown Ups 2 pushed through but you're asking why this can?
The community aside, if properly worked on the story has potential beyond jump scares every 5 minutes.
Probably cause Poltergeist was a remake and cheaper to make.
Also, keep in mind that most video game movies don't get a lot of support in the film industry. There's usually more of a conflict of interest and budget constraints for adapted works rather than streamlining a film that already exists or crazy easy to write.
This is where we disagree, you look at this project and see videogame to movie adaptation, I see horror property to horror movie adaptation. They'll take the basic idea, add what they think the movie version needs, and rush it into production. If anything this movie will be cheaper than Poltergeist. I bet they use tv actors, from the CW network or something like that. Cheap all the way. The attraction for the movie audience is the concept, not the stars. Without having to pay big name stars, there's no reason for this type of movie to cost a lot to make. I'd be shocked if it turned out to be a big budget movie, I'm thinking more like Insidious/The Conjuring rather than World War Z.
Watching a Let's Player for 1 hour and a half on a big screen in a cinema!
honestly say whatever you want about the community or the games themselves I'm not a huge fan of either but you can't deny this is one fucking inspiring success story
indie dev who makes christian games and was allegedly suicidal makes a game as a last ditch effort and it explodes into the most popular thing in the world
The Creator being involved with the making of the movie at least makes me put some faith in the movie.
I agree that the concept makes for a good horror mystery film, but I have little faith that they would be able to make it an enjoying and genuinely creepy film and not a jump-scare fest with typical horror movie stupidity.

The entirely situation is weird. He started off making flash games for some christian website.

which is why charlie day would be much better, every time the boss calls each night he'd be like "DUDE THE ANIMATRONIC GUYS ARE TRYING TO KILL ME, YOU'RE NOT LISTENING"
he could really play up the jump scares, plus he's kinda good at comming off as a wimp and i could totally see him frantically switching through doors and monitors and shit, plus he's not exactly doing anything except for its always sunny in Philadelphia right now
Ben Stiller as the night guard and have Frank from Donnie Darko be Bonnie! Oh and Yogi as Freddy Fazbear. And some unknown chicken thing as Chica! Oh the humanity!
Maybe Frank from Donnie Darko as Bonnie wouldn't be that bad...

Huh, I think I remember my father telling me to play some good wholesome Christian games...and I came across the AAA action RPG, "The Pilgrim's Progress." It reminded me of Infinity Blade, except with the main character being, "Spirit" and the bosses being, "Souldozer" and "Dread." It also costs $3, and it's by Scott Cawthon.

I think I actually bought it before.

5 years ago people referencing memes and things was only something people that spent a LOT of time on the internet dared to do, but now that I'm in university things like advice animals and things that used to be pretty niche stuff are dropped all the time in conversation. It's really weird if you think about it.
I really wish The Desolate Hope took off. In my opinion it was way better than FNAF
I don't know if anyone else has brought up the point; but I feel like a Five Night's At Freddy's movie would have to be rated "R" to be good. But given that Scott is a devout Christian and that movie studios are afraid to put out "R" titles; I'm less then optimistic.

What studios need to understand is that a lot of kids (who are probably going to be a decent chunk of this movie's audience) can just get their parents to take them to see an R-rated movie. Look at all the kids that get M-rated games. It doesn't matter what rating this is, it's gonna make a lot of money. The audience is already there, and they have a limited timeframe before the franchise's popularity fades away.
They're going to shit all over it. Fanbase aside the story is pretty solid, but I know they're going to ruin it which really is a shame.
I'm not at all surprised that this happened, but I am surprised at how quickly this happened. The very first one came out only 7 months ago ffs.
At least it isn't slenderman.

I doubt Scott would care since the game is about machines that gut children. He also would get a good amount of money from it.
