It could have potential. If it's all animated/CG, how many animated horror movies are there? And it has it's distinct style. I'd probably watch it just to see what they do with it, even if it's live action. I think it'd be really cool if it was a horror movie that's focused on the main character investigating. The Ring had something similar to that, and it's one of my favourite horror movies. In The Ring, the tape is an urban legend that the main character investigates. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza could be this movie's tape. [sp]it'll probably be shit anyways[/sp]
next up on the Hollywood chopping block is bad rats
[sp]it'll probably be shit anyways[/sp]
It'll probably die on the operating table. Films like this get to a point where the studio sees what they have and decides it's not worth it.
I asked about the "Out to Writers" thing, because I almost though I could write the script for it.
Personally, I don't believe this, at least currently, since Scott himself stated on "ScottGames.com" that the only sources to be believed are the said website and his Steam FNaF pages. Furthermore, even Cawthon himself is not very trustworthy, since one day he claimed that he was hacked and FNaF 3 was cancelled, and that revealed to be a joke (and it wasn't April the 1st). The minimalistic and cryptic spirit of the games also isn't very fitting for being turned into a movie: the robots almost never move on camera; practically no people make a physical appearance; a single jumpscare means the end for the protagonist; most of the lore is hard to find, and so on. Basically, it would difficult for a movie to offer something that a game can't without breaking its atmoshpere. In addition, if it is true that the core of its fanbase is composed of kids, it would be hard to make a family-friendly film for them which features children being murdered. On the other hand, the story is frequently considered to be the best part of FNaF; there are many people who bought it, yet there even more of those who watch it strictly for the story without buying it (because of being "too scared/smug/thrifty to play"). So many mysteries have a chance to be revealed, and many aspects can become clear. In addition, Scott's models are high-detailed enough to be used as movie ones or at least as a reference for such. It would also nice to keep Scott Cawthon as the writer and as the actor of the Phone Guy (it would be funny yet unlikely if Scott would play him not only vocally, but make an appearance as him). Of course, this can be one of the cases like: "Remember when a guy said that product X will never made, let alone be popular, and then product X became the worldly best-seller?" Having the main creator working on the movie raises the chances of this. (Though, hopefully, this movie won't end up being made mostly/strictly for money...) And lastly: if the movie will come, don't forget to brighten its posters and seek for tiny details!
next up on the Hollywood chopping block is bad rats
It ends up getting a sequel because people keep buying the DVD as a gag gift.
I would only see this if Terry Crews plays the secruity guard.
This is either going to be great or terrible. What's next, hotline Miami the movie? Cities Skyline the movie? We already have an Angry Birds the movie coming soon. I bet if i write a story and make a video game that happens to become unexpectedly popular, in two years time, someone would want to make a feature film about it. And it will only take Scott two years to make this movie happen. Assuming someone got the script ready, the movie would be ready in 2018 or something.
Given the right director and writer, a Hotline Miami film could work pretty well. Could you imagine Quentin Tarantino's Hotline Miami?
This film's story could compete with the extraordinary plot of The Beast of Yucca Flats. I seriously hope this movie is so poorly written, that it makes The Room look like Gone with the Wind.
what isnt this game like a flash game in which you look at a monitor at motionless animatronics that sneak up on you and like no characters or story well I guess if a postal movie can be made than anything goes
what isnt this game like a flash game in which you look at a monitor at motionless animatronics that sneak up on you and like no characters or story well I guess if a postal movie can be made than anything goes
There actually is a story but it's nothing special And now you're just making me think how much of a bigger trainwreck this would be if Uwe Boll directs it
If I did write a script, would anyone read it? I kind of want to, though I know it would never get used.
Say what you will about the games and the horrible fanbase, this is a pretty amazing success story.
I'd like it if they didn't have the security guard as the main character, but have someone searching for the truth behind it all. I'd like to see this as an mystery horror film where some detective hired by families who have recently lost their son/daughter with mysterious circumstances. The local police have their mouths shut tight about the whole thing and locals themselves refused to even talk about the missing people. The only clue he has is that they all disappeared after accepting a job at a pizza place on the outskirts of town. It be like watching someone find all the clues like you did in the original game and slowly piecing it back together and finding out that Freddy's is more than it seems.
If I did write a script, would anyone read it? I kind of want to, though I know it would never get used.
I'd read it IF, and only if, you have any idea of how to write a script. I mean a viable script, one that could actually be made into a movie. Anyone can write up a bunch of scenes they'd like to see, I'm not interested in that. But if you can tell a story with believable characters and a beginning/middle/end, that is something I would be interested in reading.
I think the best thing this movie could do that the games really couldn't was show the restaurant at both night AND day. Would be interesting to see them going around and being generally friendly (but just a little off) for scenes to contrast the spoops that happen at night.
I just wonder how the voices for the bots will be. Or how different they will be to the ones we always hear from fans.
The game itself like most other things was an innovative concept, but was utterly made cancerous by some of the fanbase. Kinda like Minecraft, how all of the 12 year olds and RPers ruined the game for the normal people
When the credits roll they need to show footage from all the LPer's on youtube screaming as you leave the theater.

It won't be random gobble-gook, I've actually written a screenplay before though it's gotten nowhere. I even know proper formatting and all that.
I'm game to read it. I'm a movie fan in general, so I've read a fair amount of scripts. I don't have a problem visualizing the imagery from the page.

This is one game that I think would do good as a movie. The game isn't some long, story-driven novel. It's short, mysterious, and there's still a lot of questions that need to be answered that could be done in one setting like a movie. They don't have to squeeze a ton of information in one - two hours. I think this is perfect movie material the more I think about it.
Not sure whats worse. This or Mama June's sex tape. [sp]We would be lucky if neither came into existance[/sp]
I honestly want them to have Scott as the Phone guy
Well, on the bright side? There's no way it can be worse than the Mario movie.
All the animatronics are voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.
Make Shia LeBouf play the security guard so when it gets to the scene where the power goes out right before 6am, we can hear Shia go "nonononononono" to the tune of the Freddy's theme while it plays.
Well, on the bright side? There's no way it can be worse than the Mario movie.
The Super Mario Bros. movie wasn't even that bad. Compared to some of the shit we've seen in the past 15 years, it's at least enjoyable.
I can't get past the 2nd night on the first game.
