Why can't everyone just use FLAC
Takes up a lot of space, like 80% of people don't hear a difference, don't want to spend a lot of money on new headphones to hear if I can.
It's a mistake to underestimate the sticking power of MP3, it was "replaced" by a better format called AAC.
It's cheaper, more efficient, sounds better and uses less storage space. But people still use MP3 (People seem to associate AAC with Apple, so other DRM free music stores use MP3 as if that's somehow more "free" than the format Apple use)
Sounds like something someone who has a Mac and is in their mid 20s would come up with
that legal access to music has to give the customers more than just music, and this is certainly one very nice way to do it
:10bux: says it will include some completely closed brutal DRM, and that main purpose of coming with that new format is a try at culling piracy.
Just reeks to me of yet another poorly-acronymed file format that tries to cram too much boring useless shit in alongside simple music playback in a desperate attempt to go "Guys guys look at me! Look what I can do! MP3 only does audio but I can do lyrics and blogs and all this other gay shit that I KNOW you don't give one flying fuck about! LOVE ME!".
Pass. Again.
Whatever happened to .mp5?
.mp3 should never have been the most common sound format in the first place. .ogg is WAY better.
Thanks alot, Bill Gates.
Mp3 is not in need of improvement.
