You know it's equally narrow-minded of people to assume that students' [I]budding creativity and individuality[/I] would be stamped out by school uniforms. Creativity isn't only expressed with what you wear, in fact I hardly see any solid correlation between the two considering that for the most part people only imitate trendy styles in the first place.

All schools in Australia have uniforms. And at my school we have to wear a buttoned shirt and tie, pants and belt, and leather shoes. It SUCKS. You americans are extremely lucky to be able to wear what you want at school.

I wouldn't condone the adoption of school uniforms of they happened to come about at my school, but I would also understand that it wouldn't be the end of the world if I was forced to wear one. Call it complacency if you like, because I really wouldn't care.
