I wore school uniform for 12 years, and believe me, nobody's 'freedom of expression' is slightest bit damaged by uniforms, nor is it a symbol of repression, Nazism or anything else insinuated in this thread.
Straight from the horses mouth along with a fitting avatar.
I don't think it's going to make school horrible, but it's expensive and stupid. And all the laundry is annoying as hell.

Also, since when has laundry been a big deal? How many high schoolers do their own laundry? I know for a fact the uniform I had to wear in school could be thrown into the regular wash, I had to take no special treatment to it.
Hepatitis and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease for one thing. It's really unattractive too. Plus usually there's usually something really wrong with them, like mental problems or childhood trauma and such, not that it's their fault though.
Oh yea, I forgot that everyone gets a STD every time they have sex, silly me.
Trust me, it's not just "Oh she's fine as long as she doesn't have an STD." There's a whole, whole lot more to it than that you won't be able to understand until you actually lose your virginity, which I can tell by most of you're posts, few of you have on this board.
Actually, there isn't, and that is something you learn after you have lost your virginity.

I like how you guys are bitching about sex in a school uniform discussion.

That might be regular for some people but I have enough clothes to only have to wash them every few days.
I like how you guys are bitching about sex in a school uniform discussion.
Well the topic is a bit about sex and girls dressing sexually, so the argument fits.
Jesus can't be dead if he was never alive in the first place! :buddy: Also note that the dudes with their pants bagging down in prison are the ones that get butt-fucked.
But he was
if i wanna wear a shirt with King Crimson on it, why shouldn't I be allowed to
There is no reason it shouldn't be as long as it's not vulgar. We're not talking about stripping people of their rights. We're talking about simple additions to dress code that limit anything that may be offensive to staff and other students. Such as tops with no straps or spaghetti straps, women who wear no bras, men who don't wear belts, or even when they do their underwear are still visible. What they want is people to dress responsibly for a public setting.
But you're forced to get multiple shirts or wash every night. I did laundry twice or once a weak at best for two years. I never found a problem with it.
men who don't wear belts
:geno:
What they want is people to dress responsibly for a public setting.
government shouldn't have a say in what is "responsible". that's what private schools should be, without discrimination that's just stupid [editline]09:46PM[/editline]
I had one shirt, one jacket, one pair of pants, shoes and socks.
Which should be the parent's job, not the school's.
Parents don't seem to be responsible enough to manage their own lives as it is, students also need to be responsible.
I had one shirt, one jacket, one pair of pants, shoes and socks. I did laundry twice or once a weak at best for two years. I never found a problem with it.
You wore the same change of clothes for a week? I guess that's alright for you, maybe, but I don't like wearing the same shirt for more than a day, it makes me feel gross.
Actually, there isn't, and that is something you learn after you have lost your virginity.
Keep thinking that.
Parents don't seem to be responsible enough to manage their own lives as it is, students also need to be responsible.
It's still not the State's right to come in and parent kids unless they are being physically abused or neglected.
Keep thinking that.
just so you know, pulling out the "you're just a virgin so you don't know anything" argument is a dick move "excuse me, before you continue, do you have kids? What does that have to do with the eco... you would agree with me if you had kids"
Keep thinking that.
One day when you have sex you will learn.
if i wanna wear a shirt with King Crimson on it, why shouldn't I be allowed to
By the same line of argument, why should anyone who compulsorily must go to school be forced into an environment in which people may dress quite intimidatingly, and may be singled out for their own mode of dress?
just so you know, pulling out the "you're just a virgin so you don't know anything" argument is a dick move "excuse me, before you continue, do you have kids?
It's still not the State's right to come in and parent kids unless they are being physically abused or neglected.
I don't understand the big deal with a school telling it's students. "Wear a belt, keep your pants up." "Don't come to school with anything vulgar on your shirt"
By the same line of argument, why should anyone who compulsorily must go to school be forced into an environment in which people may dress quite intimidatingly, and may be singled out for their own mode of dress?
because that's life? life is not a white wallpaper with tapestries, life is full of danger and disgustingness. why should we even have women in our schools why should we even have sex ed down with all of that, we must create women and men who know what their functions are! procreation and having an office job
There is no reason it shouldn't be as long as it's not vulgar. We're not talking about stripping people of their rights. Not only is it distracting, it also tends to curb professionalism when school should be, well... a place to get an education, rather than a social parlor/daycare center.
I don't understand the big deal with a school telling it's students. "Wear a belt, keep your pants up."
because belts are shit?
I think we should kill too birds with one stone and ban clothing all-together. That way we can assure that all students are not judged upon baised on their clothing, but then the teachers will be arrested for sexual harasment, and new ones will come in, creating a cycle so quick teachers dont have time for anything bad to happen! It's foolproof!
Yeah right. Not only is it distracting, it also tends to curb professionalism when school should be, well... a place to get an education, rather than a social parlor/daycare center.
high school is where you learn how to deal with social life if you actually think high school education becomes important in life, you must still be in high school
By the same line of argument, why should anyone who compulsorily must go to school be forced into an environment in which people may dress quite intimidatingly, and may be singled out for their own mode of dress?
If you're willing to give up liberty for some safety you deserve neither. Franklin said it best, but I can't be assed to get his quote. Infact, using your logic, all freedom of expression should be banned. Singled out for your art or your artstyle, or choice of music or the videogames you like.
