it would be stupid to plaster that over all americans.
obviously directed at the protesters
Yeah we're aware you're talking about the protesters.
You're assuming everyone who doesn't like the bill is uninformed when in fact a great many of us have read it where its supporters have not.
Why are these Americans so afraid of 'socialism' and all the 'evil and tyranny' it will bring to the glorious freedom-democracy of America?
I can't help but feel that all the people against this just lack the proper knowledge.
you're a singaporean homosexual, seriously.
be quiet.
People, follow that congressman's actions. Stick up. Let your voice be heard. I'm tired of this aggressive pacifism.

Had the word republican been replaced with democrat and obama replaced with bush you guys would be on the entirely different side of the debate, and rightfully so.
If bush had been supporting universal healthcare, people wouldn't have though he was such a huge idiot.
If bush had been supporting universal healthcare, people wouldn't have though he was such a huge idiot.
A: This is NOT universal healthcare.
B: You should read the bill.
C: A shitty bill does not constitute intelligence.
Ah, I never read the source. So, this is about somebody raging about illegal immigrants that might be getting coverage (even though they probably won't) Is it that hard for people to pay an extra $5-10 in their taxes to possibly cover an illegal immigrant, they are humans too, you know. I don't give a shit about what the bill was, but if illegal immigrants getting healthcare was what the guy yelled about, then what the fuck?
You see, shit like this is why American society sucks. Selfishness, bitterness and greed.
I don't think the opposition is uninformed, you're just gullible. I LOL every time I see some overfed republican news troll flap his chins about how the Canadian, French, and British healthcare systems suck, when they clearly don't. This bill is not to give you a miracle, it's to give you a healthcare system that's better, more stable, and cheaper than the one you have right now; which is what it will do. Not sure what all this butthurt is about anyways, may just be the american condition.
Is it that hard for people to pay an extra $5-10 in their taxes to possibly cover an illegal immigrant, they are humans too, you know.
Then we should extend coverage to all humans everywhere.
The reason it requires citizenship is that if you're going to be using the system for your benefit you should be paying the taxes that keep it running.
Then we should extend coverage to all humans everywhere.

That's some spacious thinking, buddy. Way to brainlessly distort and grossly exaggerate my point.
That's some spacious thinking, buddy. Way to brainlessly distort my point.
Umm, no. Your point was that their being human means we are obliged to cover them for some reason regardless of the fact they aren't citizens. If the fact that they're humans means there should be no qualifications for using the system, then by extension any human should be allowed to use its benefits, regardless of whether they are in our country or not.
Way to disregard the rest of my post, too. What I am saying is that there's no reason we should allow them to benefit from a public service that they aren't directly supporting while the rest of us are.
If the US's immigration policies wern't shit in the first place it wouldn't be a problem.
Yeah let's let felons run for president while we're at it
If the US's immigration policies wern't shit in the first place it wouldn't be a problem.
I agree that gaining legal citizenship in the US is too difficult, but it doesn't change the argument.
because we shouldnt restrict anything ever

I don't get the problem with that either, just because somebody has a criminal record, doesn't make them a bad person.

It's about a thousand pages. There aren't very many stand-out problems that you can just point out because that's not how bills really work. There's a ton of ideological problems that come with the fallout of its potential passing, namely a new NARC and the fact that the Public Option (now dropped, by the by) was extremely bottom-of-the-line coverage that was WORSE than normal insurance coverage. Very little real insurance reform is in there.
I don't get the problem with that either, just because somebody has a criminal record, doesn't make them a bad person.
Wow. You really don't understand law or government, do you?
If you refuse to abide by the laws of society you have no business enforcing them.

uhh
[editline]01:45AM[/editline]
Yeah there are no words for how dumb that is
Don't be such an idealist. 99.9% of people have performed a crime sometime in their lives.
We don't let felons own guns, let alone command the biggest goddamn guns in the world
Don't be such an idealist. 99.9% of people have performed a crime sometime in their lives.
Do you know what a felony is?
It isn't jaywalking. It's a crime you can do serious time for. Thievery, breaking and entering, aiding and abetting, conspiracy, on up that ladder. You can run for president with a misdemeanor. You CAN'T if you are a felon.
[editline]01:48AM[/editline]
MOST felonies are violent crimes like assault, rape and murder.
What about rape?
What about rape?
.
.
Careful now don't burn yourself
If a felony doesn't make them a bad person, it at least makes them a cunt.
Basically any crime you can serve upwards of 1-2 years of prison time for is a felony. Not jail, prison. As in conviction.
And they can't be president, or any other government official at that. That kind of shit is how Hitler got into power. He was convicted of treason and he ended up dictator even after prison time.
It's a felony to fly a red flag in oklahoma. get on that lawyer
It's a felony to fly a red flag in oklahoma. get on that lawyer
I don't live in Oklahoma, ain't my problem. If they don't like it they can take it to the courts. Furthermore if you think THAT'S a reason to allow felon presidents you're pretty fucking out of it.
