"Yes" it does. Would you be able to run the main part of the executive branch alone? no
Obama doesn't run it alone either. Thats what the cabinet and his czars are for.
nerds
eh. fine with me
I love how Obama put his "I'm going to fucking kill you son" face and pointed his finger.
Sure it's not a smart move, but this is hardly news-worthy.
Yes it is It's a serious breach of conduct and shows the level of resentment towards Obama from the Republican minority
And this is what journalism has become.
Isn't this what the british parliament does all the time? I don't see how it's much worse when we do it given we do it all the time too. [editline]09:54PM[/editline] Someone said something mildly controversial in a state that condones free speech! Call the media quick
I still don't get people shitting over the health care. I mean I don't think its bAd Y0OL. wait does this mean doctors get paid less-OH NOEOOOOOOO NOOO TNOOT THE DOCTARS THEY MAH FAVORITE POLITICIAN Fuck Yeah AmericA!
Because we already have more debt than half the western world combined, and taking on more by having the government pass a healthcare bill that allows anyone who goes to a doctor and says "lol I'm an American" to receive entirely free healthcare at the expense of our (pretty damn near) broke government is a horrible idea.
FYI the legitimately informed opposition to the previous bills do so because they were pieces of shit. [editline]09:59PM[/editline] Strider you are wrong there is no lol i am an american clause.
Yes it is It's a serious breach of conduct and shows the level of resentment towards Obama from the Republican minority
They wouldn't resent him if the Democrats in the senate would let the Republicans have a turn to make their case once in a while. And even supporting everyone in this country, where the hell is all this money supposed to come from?
They wouldn't resent him if the Democrats in the senate would let the Republicans have a turn to make their case once in a while.
The republicans had the last 8 years to make their case and they did precisely the same to the democrats, but suddenly the democrats are fucks because they ignore the republicans?
I have yet to hear them rectify the fact that you don't need much more than your word to prove you're a citizen. It's publicly available just like every piece of legislation ever. If you aren't capable enough to read a thousand pages you clearly aren't capable of commenting intelligently on the issue.
The republicans had the last 8 years to make their case and they did precisely the same to the democrats, but suddenly the democrats are fucks because they ignore the republicans?
I'm not saying anyone's right or wrong, personally I'm largely against partisanship, it causes shit like this to happen.
Maybe you should stop letting people tell you what the bill is about and fucking educate yourself.
If you aren't capable enough to read a thousand pages you clearly aren't capable of commenting intelligently on the issue.
There is no provision in the bill requiring much more than a document with your name on it to prove your status as a citizen, unless it magically updated itself when I wasn't looking. And you still haven't answered me, where in the hell are we getting enough money to pay for healthcare?
gg republicans
God forbid we continue funding NASA, the US Military, and the other many other Federal programs, but not a program that saves people?
Or we could keep funding NASA, stop funding stupid programs we don't need (see a good portion of programs put forth by every administration since Clinton's), then wait until we have a little cash before we try and push this forward. I'm not some staunch republican trying to keep the commies out of America, and I'm not against social healthcare. I want it to be thought out a little longer than a couple months and I want some assurance or proof that we can find a way to pay for it without our taxes skyrocketing.

I don't think you understand how this works. The legislators determine what shall be enforced but not how it will be enforced. It is the responsibility of the Executive to determine the standards to which the newly appointed agency will ensure citizenship. The bill DOES however on many occasions ensure that it purveys its services only to lawful residents of the United States, like the entire fucking section DEVOTED to forbidding illegal aliens from using the service. SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS. Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Ask them? I want it spelled out in the bill that you at least need to present legal identification and a birth certificate if you want to be taken care of at my expense. On top of this I still don't see where this money is magically coming from. And anyone with any moderate knowledge of the legal system could find a loophole in a sentence that basically amounts to "we won't pay for illegal immigrants we swears"

You don't fucking spell that shit out because that isn't the point of the bill. They tell the Executive what they're going to do, not how they're going to do it. Why the fuck do you THINK we have a president? So he can just be the middle man between Congress and everyone else? Let me spell this shit out for you. Legislative writes the law. Executive enforces the law. Judicial interprets the law. The Legislative branch doesn't fucking tell the Executive how the fuck it's going to enforce the law, it tells the executive what laws it's going to enforce. [editline]10:31PM[/editline] And I'm not even arguing about money, quit bringing that up like I'm defending the bill. [editline]10:31PM[/editline] I'm not defending the piece of shit bill, I'm attacking you for talking about shit you don't understand.
lankist you are getting too careless wait till you are a goldmember before you get ReCkLeSs

Our legal system is fucking broke, that's what I'm saying jesus fuck I also am leery of allowing the executive branch to decide how to enforce anything on the grounds that the executive branch has warped and/or reversed stances on almost all we were promised during the election.
You don't even understand the system, your opinion on its functionality is nil.
I don't like how the system is working, therefore I don't understand it? So if I don't like the fact that my tire is flat, by this logic, I don't understand how things are inflated? I'm not debating that the Executive branch enforces laws. I'm saying that they shouldn't dictate something like this when it hinges on a crumbling economy that the branch's decisions have greatly exacerbated.

So if I don't like the fact that my tire is flat, by this logic, I don't understand how things are inflated?
No, you can dislike the system all you want but your dislike means nothing until you have legitimate complaints. You bitch and moan because the legislative branch isn't more powerful than the executive, that's pretty ignorant of the entire point.

Being that he is in a position of power, and being that he has the authority to dictate how this is enforced, this means that he has a lot of responsibilities. I don't trust him with these responsibilities, therefore I am of the opinion that someone else should make this decision.

That's pretty cool except not.
does anyone even read lankists posts i know i don't
What the fuck do you think we have presidents for? You want to change the entire system of government because you don't like Obama. [editline]10:45PM[/editline]
does anyone even read lankists posts i know i don't
I told you to wait in the truck.
I want to change the entire system because it isn't working.
Why isn't it working? The only thing you have said is that a guy you don't like was elected. Boo fucking hoo cry about it.
I want to change the entire system because it isn't working.
When my car breaks down on the highway, I usually try to fix it, rather than start building a new one out of the various articles of litter I find nearby.
