Why can't we Canadian's get this amazing fibre..? I want amazing internet.
Fuck, come to Nevada!
Fucking. I live in Eagle Mountain, like 25 minutes out of Provo. God dammit, I may have to move. No, but seriously, that's awesome. Last place I'd expect to get Google Fiber...
Cool (I live in Utah).
But I hope this will bring more attention to UTOPIA, which is a opt-in fiberoptic network for cities, this means you can pick any ISP that is cooperating with the cause, so Fiberoptic infrastructure from the state, then you pick the ISP (any ISP can join) to provide your connection to the internet.

Check up in Ogden, you can get 100Mbit for a fairly cheap price, or go all out and get Gigabit for a fair amount more.
I hate to sound like I'm advertising, but really, I would love for some of the Utah members of Facepunch to find out about Utopia (http://www.utopianet.org/), since they've been trying to put fibre into as most cities as they can, and very few people know about it.
Why are they expanded more the the west!? I require something other than DSL in PA!
Isn't this the town with the shitty WordArt flag?

Well, shit. I live 40 miles away and I didn't even know that. That's hilarious.
'but porn'? Over here we just call it anal.

Google has to jump through hoops just to get it set up in different cities, imagine making the move to a different country
why Utah?
North VA/washington D.C/PG County please
Because some areas already have residential fiber laid out.
As I said before, UTOPIA has been putting fiber down in cities that will commit to financing the infrastructure.
PollytheParrot's going on a dumb rating spree, y'all watch the hell out

Fucking hell I'm sorry I made a post about wanting something good
oh no dumb ratings its the end of the fucking world
I'm sorry for your loss.
I wouldn't mind living in Provo for awhile. There are awesome big ass mountains right nextdoor, the air is nice, and they have an extremely large variety of restaurants and stores.
Didn't they say Google Fiber will stop pretty soon and they will sell it off?
hopefully they hit washington next

they'll use it to "hook up" for making out.
Is it just me, or is Google speeding up their expansion?
Expanding much faster now... please come to Canada, please.
Apparently, they're moving the specialists to do this into a tech park near where I live.
I hate Provo and Orem, had to live in that general area for about a year. If someone finds out you're not mormon it literally turns into fascist Italy.
Also, the air there is horrible. Horrible.
Utahn FP'ers represent ITT
And I'm excited 4G is finally going to be in my area by the end of the year!
I'll probably never see google fiber in my life.

Woop.
Also, It's sorta a shit-deal for the City, since google paid .. $1 for the infrastructure, and aren't going to really help pay off the $40,000,000 debt iProvo incurred.
