Isn't IE free? Doesn't it come with Windows? They have no profit to gain through this.
Actually they do get profit. Every time you use it to search with google or whatever, a message is sent to the search engine, and this message tells them what browser you are using. Then Google, or whoever, gives money to the manufacturers of the browser. The search engines again make money from ads.
oh my

I use IE because it doesen't have the crap that Firefox has and it's much more cleaner in my oppinion. Never got a virus using IE.
Microsoft should make a hole new browser.
hell yea.
I would use that but Facebook doesn't seem to work properly in Opera for me. So I switched to Firefox some time last year and it's basically the same. I am downloading Chrome right now to try it out.
Internet explorer is a browser analogy. :iiaca:
Now what if Microsoft made IE unable to download other browsers? Every user installing a new copy of Windows will be stuck with IE then... :v:
that's like saying "I don't wear a condom during sex because i'm too lazy to buy one"
except not installing firefox doesn't result in unexpected babies like not using a condom does

I can't think of anything to complain about. I really don't see how this is any better than Firefox or Opera.
except not installing firefox doesn't result in unexpected babies like not using a condom does
Unexpected baby, uh, slowness?
5 ie tabs, slowdown 20 firefox tabs, slowdown i stopped at around 85 chrome tabs
Microsoft have a point here.

Don't use black people in your ads, they're even less secure than white people :smug:
Wow, apparently IE market share is dropping at 1% per month. Nice.
Awesome, in 10 years they'll be 120% less popular!
Thread title made me laugh.
So IE goes through this horrible security disaster, and the best line they can come up with is that everyone else's code is insecure. Riiiiight. I'd better go install IE now, since it's apparently the most secure browser in the whole world. MS, just tell me that you're going to double your efforts in security. That would be a logical response. The PR guys aren't helping the situation by insulting my intelligence like this.
the risk is exponential bla bla bla
hey just so you know "exponential" doesn't mean anything unless you're talking about exponential growth for example, the number "1" is exponential in that it equals 1^578233458907294871
