He's doing his speech right now and friends, I have never been more hopeful about the future of this country. You know, I went to the supermarket last week, and I met a woman. She told me that this country just is not working for her. I was in the park the next day and a man came up to me and said that politicians just don't seem to care about the average people. A few days ago I was riding my bike and a man started shouting at me. He told me I was a dickhead, and friends, it really stuck with me. These are the sorts of people this country needs to be working for!
It wouldn't raise nearly enough. All that would happen is that the rich would try even more elaborate ways of dodging tax while we continue to overspend on the NHS.
"overspend"
We spend 9.4% of our GDP on healthcare. America spends 17.7%, France 11.6%, Canada 11.2% and Singapore 4%, but they are an amazing case.
Considering how demonised it is by the media and Tories, it's a fucking miracle in terms of relative efficiency compared to many other healthcare systems. Sure it's not the best, and we use older equipment in many things, but it works, and it works pretty damn efficiently, even with some of the problems shoved into it. (ambulances not arriving to a place because they're all busy? fine the company responsible for not having the cash for enough ambulances, yay!)
I mean if we implemented a Singapore style system (which is honestly amazing) then it would be totally brilliant, but the NHS is an effective alternative, even with its flaws. The NHS could be far better, if we focused on wasting less time on bureaucracy and some strange nuances of the system. (like the prescription service is totally strange. Seemingly arbitrary problems get given free prescriptions, whilst other more serious ones might not)

He's gonna need more than 10 years to fix the shit we've been sucked into.
Apparently he wants to replace the lords and lower the voting age.
Sweet Jesus, he must be stopped.

Replacing lords I can agree with. Voting age thing is foolish though
Scotland's referendum has shown that voting at 16 is fine as far as I'm concerned, I don't know of any problems that it caused?
I wouldn't give him 10 seconds to sucks my dick becaused I'd be done all ready.
Miliband looks like a doctor who monster wearing a skin suit
i'm more likely to demand that he's exorcised than vote for him

For fuck sake, who let this guy get into politics?
Maybe I'm being a little judgmental but my gut tells me not to vote in incompetent backwards politicians that look like Mr Bean crossed with Wallace from Wallace and Gromit.
Here are two summaries of the speech if you don't have time to watch it all
