UK Internet Users suspected of Piracy will have to pay £20 to appeal.

surely people download stuff because they're poor, if i can't afford £10 for a dvd what makes them think i can afford £20 to for an appeal? i'll probably keep downloading till i get one of these letters, virgin media seem pretty relaxed with it unless its during peak hours in which case they just reduce your internet speed so much it's not even worth doing.
So the 20 pound thing is "Fuck the poor, they don't get to defend themselves."
Why would a poor person be hit badly by this if they can afford to pay their monthly internet bill?
As if Ofcom hadn't raped the media in this country enough.
Ofcom is suppose to be protected people from monopolies and unfair practices not fucking us.
2014? Oh that gives me enough time to move to Nigeria.
And distribute your many moneyz through Western Union?

If I was a UK police officer, I would go from house to house, and tell everyone I suspect them of piracy. Loads of free money.
So how do we start protesting against this?

Nigeria, where the government prefers to spend it's money on nation-wide firewalls and putting people in jail for using Skype instead of giving their citizens food?
You are probably going to do just fine there.
So how do we start protesting against this?
Protesting achieves nothing.

did you watch the news at all last year
I'm assuming the ISP's logic is along the lines of "IF THERE'S NO ONE TO PIRATE, THERE'S NO NEED FOR PIRATE WEBSITES TO EXIST, SO THEY'LL DISAPPEAR. YAY US!"
This isn't ISP's, this is the government and film companies being dickheads. ISP's don't care what people use their internet for as long as they pay for it, it's the government making them do this stuff.
Why do these people have to be so detached from reality to think this will improve this country?
It's a shame governments can't stand up to greedy businesses.
If i had the £20 in the first place i wouldn't be pirating! (probably still would but that's not the point)
Guilty until proven innocent?
Are we playing Ace Attorney or something?
Welcome to police country may I take your coat?
If they do this, I will find several trusty VPN services and proxies, I will print very easy to understand instructions (that even your gran could follow), I will include free and paid proxies and outline why it is important etc. I will then take them to a printing shop, and have 100,000 stickers, 10,000 A5 posters and 1,000 A1 posters and fucking coat London and anywhere I visit with these posters and stickers, I will also give out the graphic for others to print and spread.
Seriously this is fucking stupid, they are just using piracy as an excuse to try and monitor us. Yeh right now it's our internet, but 10 or 20 years down the road it'll become much worse if nothing is done to stop it
What the fuck is with the sudden craze around piracy, especially going after downloaders?
