I hate being blue.
I was about 200 posts away from getting gold before Garry changed the requirements for it. Now I'm not sure it's even possible for me to get it without buying it.
Damn you Garry, DAMN YOU!

Last time I checked, it was 5 years and 100 posts.
So, 2015.

How do AVG devs not know that basic RAT clients can open chats and turn on your webcam?
[editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
Oh that's right AVG is shit.
Guy above me is right, these are primitive functions from 2007 and earlier lol, seriously like how does avg survive as an antivirus program? Do they simply steal definitions from others or what. Obviously they still haven't realized more advanced features in some of these bots, maybe they should learn some asm and debug programs properly :D.
This backdoor has powerful functions like monitoring victim’s screen, mouse controlling, viewing process and modules, and even camera controlling.
Sounds like a standard RAT that any somewhat knowledgeable script kiddie can get their hands on
People still appear stunned when they learn that hackers can just overheat their hardware if they do it right.
AVG should reprogram it so they can turn his computer off.
Should stick a picture of a shock image over your webcam.
Actually, that would probably get the hacker angry and he'll just destroy your computer.
i want to learn to make a fake device driver now that just pipes out an image of goatse and is named HP WEBCAM PRO or something

Sir, where in the article did they say they didn't know it could do this? I'm sure they knew it could happen, they simply put "amazing, right?" in the article because not everyone knows this, and some people would in fact find it amazing. Stop acting like AVG is the worst thing ever because your cognitive skills are misguided.

But AVG is one of the poorer anti-virus companies out there. There are much better security providers.

Fair enough, but criticizing them because they assume the AVG devs didn't know something isn't right.
it is simple RAT, even 12 years old HFer can use it.
