Yeah that notion is a really dumb one, especially here since a lot of people buy into it. The Republicans want to restrict gay rights; think global warming is a conspiracy; believe all economic problems are solved by lower taxes on the rich; want to outlaw abortion; despise universal healthcare; think the military is still too small; hate the idea of secularism in politics, and a bunch of other garbage.
Mean while, the Democrats want to...Restrict your access to guns? That's really about it. It confuses me too when I see so many people express the fact they'd rather have any Republican president than Hillary Clinton, because there's a couple things about her character they dislike. So obviously the solution is to vote in someone with beliefs entirely contrary to everything you believe in as a result?
I really think the whole, "Both parties are equally shit," line of thinking just makes them feel intelligent. They believe they're past the partisanship of the American political system, and capable of looking at both sides equally unlike the' 'sheeple' who cling to one or the other.
I never said which party smelt more like shit.
It's amazing the conclusions that you guys can make about a poster you disagree with.
It's amazing the conclusions a store owner can make about a town that he disagrees with.

You guys need to chill if you attack an oversimplification of a debate as a completely valid attempt at a political model of the entire US two party system lmao

Fuck this guy, he's had a 'going out of business' sign on his door for ten years and still sells shit furniture. How does that even happen?

There's a place in my city that's been going out of business for 15 years.
I don't even think they're technically lying, they've probably been on the verge of closing every month for 15 years and somehow pull a miracle out of their asses

There must be a pattern with furniture stores, 'cause we have one here that does the same shit.
"We're going out of business! HURRY! Stock won't last!"
*their parking lot remains fairly busy for a few months*
"Oh wow okay you guys will NOT believe this but thanks to us buying more stock as you gullible sheep buy our wares despite trying to liquidate and close down we're not going out of business after all, yay us!"
It seems like furniture stores are either super successful or doomed to fail.
Mathis Brother's Furniture has had the commercial spot right before the Simpsons for years where I live, and fuck me if that hasn't contributed to them being successful.
As an outsider looking in, the notion that both the Democrat and Republican parties are equally bad is the greatest fast one the Republicans have ever pulled on the American public.
Not equally bad, but both parties do make dumb decisions every now and then, even though one of them is more of a constant stream of it.

It's one of those things you really had to be there for, I guess.
I have to admit though, being from Kansas, if there was one city in Kansas to call the "candy-ass commie capital of Kansas" Lawrence would be it.
Full of hippies, extreme liberals, and college students. Great place though, just saying he's probably not wrong.
The difference between the american parties is that while one of them isn't perfect the other one is literally evil
