I am not trying to change your opinion. I'm trying to point out that it is fundamentally WRONG in how you go about thinking about it. I never wanted to change your opinion. What I'm trying to drum into your head is that Kanye is not bad, you just don't like it. You not liking his music has fuck all to do with him being a good artist or not. They are two distinct things that genuinely have nothing to do with each other. So when you make a statement like 'Kanye is garbage music' you're not only devaluing the guy as an artist, you're also setting yourself up for an argument with someone who thinks the same way you do, but thinks Kanye is the greatest of all time. Instead of a discussion about the music, there's a frivolous argument that can never be solved becuase you can never solve an argument about whether music can be considered shit or not unless you have a super indepth knowledge about music theory, which most people don't.

It's obvious he's had an impact on music, all I'm talking about is "do you like him, yes/no" being turned into these debates when no matter what, even with the most insight on the person, you can't change someones opinion about their music if they don't like it to begin with. That's what I was trying to get at but just, lost the words mid process if that makes sense to anyone else. The general critical consensus, as well as the consensus of a massive amount of other extremely talented producers, rappers and artists, who's own opinion hold far more weight than your own, have labelled his music as good and influential. It's fine if you don't like it, but you can't try to present your opinion as a fact.
