You're an idiot. Sony has been around decades before Valve, not only that, but they've asserted themselves in several fields that Valve is incapable of entering. And maintains a yearly revenue that is thousands of times greater than that of Valve.
Actually no, Valve's projected profits are larger than Apple's who have the largest electronics profits right now.
For the first time I can remember, I'm in agreeance with Rusty100. Albeit, Sony's security was breached, it wasn't at all their fault. If someone has the time and means, they can get into anything. As it seems, Sony probably did take every precaution, if not better precautions than any other corporation(none of you know for sure), but the fact that there was someone patient enough and willing enough to get it done, allowed it to be done. It doesn't matter how good Sony could have made it's security, the fact is, someone wanted in, and they went through the loops to get in. Blaming Sony, is accusing them of something they didn't do. Something was done to them. All in all, I'd consider them the victim.
Sony had bad security. Sony is the one to blame for the information of 70 million people being stolen. They breached data protection laws and more importantly the trust of their customers. The only victim is the people whose data was stolen.

Corporate justice is totally different, Sony can be both at once.
This isn't very funny at all, guys. I know that someone can't easily steal all of the cards, but that's still cards. I hate being a PS3 guy, picked on by Xbox gamers and PC Fanboys, now this....
Shitfuck. Now I'm glad my credit card number was changed when I canceled my card a while back.
So....both perp and victim at the same time? Who's presiding over this case, Schrodinger?
Because this is so closely related to quantum theory.
If someone has the time and means, they can get into anything.
Let's assume Sony actually did something not stupid for once and decided to encrypt important bank information with something like AES256. Sure, if someone has the time, they can get brute force it; but said time is the expected lifespan of the universe.
So, uhh, is there any way to log on and check what info WAS leaked? I can't even remember the e-mail I used for it, and I think the credit card that was on there has since been updated but I'm not sure. I'd rather not have my mom cancel her card for the third time in a year because of something like this. Also, other than selling the info to spam bots, what good is having e-mails going to do them? The passwords for the e-mails themselves aren't supplied.

Sony is protecting us by causing us to have no idea what the exact magnitude of this leak is, forbidding us to even check what shit could've been leaked on our own accounts! What ever would we do without you, Sony?
Good thing I have an Xbox. Back to Portal 2! inb4 PC fanboys EDIT: Dumbs are fanboys.
"I'm going to protect myself by saying anyone that rates me dumb is stupid."
