That's not confirmed.
You didnt read it? Because they were almost about to say that it has happened. Like seconds away from saying it but someone slapped them and they didnt do it.
If you don't mind sharing, what did the person spend your $81 on?
Like I said, actual charge hasn't been posted yet. Just the existence of it. I'll know tomorrow likely.
Idiot some of us are now having to deal with really annoying financial shit (you know, GROWNUP stuff) because of this
I'm also having to watch various credit card statements, and my emails. This shit happens, and if the accounts do get touched, I'm fairly sure the bank will be more than happy to retract the transaction.
Shit, I'm glad I switched the Debit Card information. My friend's was on there before.
you are comparing a billionaire to a hobo. BP has access to things EVERYONE needs. Sony only sells things people want. Sony can easily not recover from this.
BP and it's partner's negligence lead to the death of several workers, thousands of sea creatures, and ruined the livelihood of many communities. Sony's negligence lead to the leak of personal information (most of which is probably available online elsewhere anyway) and potentially credit card information to very small source. Both companies had/have the capital to fix their respective problems and I would be very surprised if Sony weren't able to recover.
My dad is worried that I might have used his card in 2007 when I was broke. I wish I could check to see if I did. Just as long as the only thing that they got their hands on was my card, I don't give a fuck :v:
Sony produces commodities. BP produces oil. They cannot be compared at all.
Like I said, actual charge hasn't been posted yet. Just the existence of it. I'll know tomorrow likely.
My apologies, I didn't realise you had actually received some funky transactions because of this. I guess we can all agree that this situation really really sucks
I would've expected the hacker(s) to charge $1 from every single person's credit card and make of with millions leaving very few people truly angry. The fact that they are spending significant amounts of money on single cards is ludicrous.

The only way a oil company can go under is if countries actually do outright bans on oil drilling. What sony did can send them down a hole so deep they can never get out of it. No one else will care what happens to them when they go down that hole.
Sony produces commodities. BP produces oil. They cannot be compared at all.
I may be mistaken here but isn't a commodity something that is perfectly equal regardless of brand? If so, TVs aren't exactly commodities.
I am really glad that I recently removed my credit card info. However, if some strange neckbeard hacker comes to my door because he got my address, I'll be pissed.
Can't even use their forums, down for "maintenance"
I'm in the clear now! Thank you Federal Banks for having customer service to 8 PM :neckbeard: Edit:I still love my Playstation for the games I have for it, I hate the dumbasses who took care of security though.

Yes, there will be a lot of action taken against them but like I said before they can afford to fix this problem because they're such a big company.

This was only on the fact that they waited this long to say hey, we might have lost your credit card numbers. It is still going to go down until they get their fucking heads out of their asses and fess up.
I can't believe people are already losing fucking money over this, it could have been avoided if Sony hadn't just let this whole thing chill for a week Unbelievable. Same reason (partially) Chernobyl got so bad, denial. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] "oh shit oh fuck just keep it on the down low nobody'll notice.. right?"

Let's wait till they announce people may have got it, THEN spend it!"

It's going to continually rise and fall throughout this debacle and eventually flatten out or begin to rise once it reaches it's conclusion.
Sony's PS3 gets cracked with free games. Sony's PSN goes down. Sony's passwords and credit cards get hacked. Wow. Sony needs to pull their shut together.
None of those 3 being directly Sony's fault.
Oh fuck. How do I change my debit card information? Can I change it? Fucking hell I don't know anything about what to do when that shit gets stolen. :ohdear: Goddammit I never even thought this shit could happen to me.

It's the only way (not trying to be funny, it's standard procedure when you lose a card or it gets compromised otherwise)
This hasn't been a good year for Sony at all
None of those 3 being directly Sony's fault.
It's not a bank's fault for being robbed, but you still expect them to have a decent safe.
So, what does this mean? Individually speaking? Should I be concerned someone knowing..what exactly? My PSN password? What could there be, now that I can't check it myself by logging on to the god damned black box.
It's not a bank's fault for being robbed, but you still expect them to have a decent safe.
No matter how decent your safe might be, someone will find a way to crack it, sometime in the future.
No matter how decent your safe might be, someone will find a way to crack it, sometime in the future.
Except Sony were storing a lot of people's details as plain text :downs:
Am I the only one who's not only worried about Playstation Network? I highly doubt a reputable business like Sony made it extremely easy to compromise everything saved into the Network. If anything this just shows the frailty of all these big networks...oversight is going to lead to a lot of trouble if the other companies like Microsoft don't catch on and buff up their protection.
No matter how decent your safe might be, someone will find a way to crack it, sometime in the future.
I wouldent call it a safe I'd call it a wooden box
