Anonymous vs. /b/ the ultimate showdown!!! (yes I know thats not likely, but it would be awesome)
Vigilante justice usually fucks up some or other person's life.
Can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs, somebody would say...
ITT: Debating over whether Anon is a name or group and contemplating how dark and edgy teenagers are while they are still fucking shit up, instead of doing anything about it.
And what do YOU suggest people should do then?
To be fair, it wouldn't be hard for the authorities to subpoena the IPs of people making thousands of requests an hour from one page.
That's what makes Anonymous so strong. You can take out several "members" but the core will always remain untouched and functioning as a unit.
Very good article. Good read. I think everyone can understand what anon is by reading this.
... Jesus Christ, Anonymous is not an organization. Calling them a "militia" is insulting your own intelligence.
Their problem with Twitter seems to be its censoring of Wikileaks related hashtags from appearing on the trending list. If you use the various websites for working out what is trending apparently the wikileaks hashtags are way more popular than the trending topics.
Twitter revised the trending topic formula to exclude topics that were in the trending topic list for a certain amount of time. If they didn't do this, you'd see Justin Beiber everywhere. Besides, it means "trending" topics, not "2 week old run on topics." The trending topic list is designed to show what's happening daily, pretty much nobody hasn't heard of Wikileaks, or hasn't heard what's going on.
A militia? Anon? Ha! What are they, some kind of Chocolate Milk Militia? ...Chocolate Milk Militia would actually be a really good band name...
They are a danger to the general population more than anything, kids don't know what the fuck they are doing.
Hackers? They're using LOIC to DoS a site. fucking :foxnews:
Well if you every screw up in life, you can always be a "expert" on anonymous.
The way the Internet is now you cannot factually win anything against Anonymous.
They could shut down 4chan as a whole or threaten legal action unless they moderate stuff like this. I mean, you know that's where most of them come from. They are probably lazy and wouldn't make another site.
They could shut down 4chan as a whole or threaten legal action unless they moderate stuff like this. I mean, you know that's where most of them come from. I miss /b/ when it was still just smart kids acting like idiots.
HAY GUYS I'M ANONYMOS CAUS I USE NO NAME I'M SO DARK AND EDGEY CAN I BE IN MASS MEDIA WHATS LOIC. or, what every dark moody teenager will be after the media runs this story a few dozen times.
I agree, it's pretty much that vibe that has destroyed it.
The biggest Norwegian newspaper, VG, on anon: http://www.vg.no/nyheter/utenriks/wikileaks/artikkel.php?artid=10012430 Google translate it or something.
"http://isitup.org/www.visa.com IT'S DOWN! KEEP FIRING! #DDOS #PAYBACK #WIKILEAKS." The expression «keep firing» is being interpreted as an encouragement to keep attacking Visa.
Yeah, no shit.
According to themselves the group has over 9000 members.
Great research, VG.
Trolls posing as moralfags.
Trolls posing as moralfags.
Que?

According to themselves the group has over 9000 members.

fuck this gay earth
is this 4chan anonymous or some other group with the same name [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
I miss /b/ when it was still just smart kids acting like idiots.
it was 12 year olds acting like idiots now it's just 12 year olds not much difference
is this 4chan anonymous or some other group with the same name
It's not a group.
Participating in a DDoS is illegal - the denial of service part is what gets it. Making a computer service unavailable to its registered users is illegal in the US, and these guys are putting their asses on the line by doing this. Chances are only a few people will get caught, but it's believed that we'll see a bit of a deterrent effect. Also, if convicted of cybercrime, you can be banned from purchasing a computer for a certain number of years.
Countless people have been fucked over when affiliated with 4chan, it's not gonna stop them, /b/ does whatever the fuck it fancies doing, whatever that may be depends, they collected all the vital information on tons of pedos and then sent them to those around them who would have had an interest in that knowledge, local schools, the local police, their family and friends, publicly destroying them forever, and not because they thought they were sick people, just for their own entertainment. It's difficult to stop the people who go around wrecking lives or doing their part for what they perceive as a worthy cause when they mainly do it for the singular purpose of the shits and giggles. [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
They could shut down 4chan as a whole or threaten legal action unless they moderate stuff like this. I mean, you know that's where most of them come from. They are probably lazy and wouldn't make another site.
There's more than one chan website, there's 4 chan then there's 420Chan, 711chan and a couple others I don't remember the names of. They are not lazy people.
Studying 4chan, sounds pretty fucking boring.
They seem to be trying to start a new operation now, thinking operation payback wasn't strong enough. Operation Leakspin, trying to find the worst yet least exposed of all the leaks and publicising them.
Stop stroking their ego it only makes it worse.
I miss /b/ when it was still just smart kids acting like idiots.
What has changed?
What has changed?
12 year olds who say the n word in public thinking its cool and its filled with people who have been on 4chan for like a week
What has changed?
More moralfags, more cancer, more people thinking it's a secret facebook and a place where you can post a phone number and instantly have a personal army at their command. There are still oldfags, they're just lurking in the briney deep.
According to themselves the group has over 9000 members.
They can't be serious. Seriously? Fuck this
They can't be serious. Seriously? Fuck this
makes over 9000 joke
