• Hollywood Breaks Record With 15 Big Budget Flops in One Year

It's time for Hollywood to get cut down to size. The only way they could save themselves from this is if they shut down most big budget productions, fall back on franchising plans, and make something fucking original for god's sake.
No pls not a The Mummy remake I loved the original, it was perfect in every way, it doesn't need a reboot make it stoP
Hollywood has become completely detached from the rest of society, it's insane. They keep making the same mistakes and then are confused when they once again fail. And then they try to do it again anyway.
They're not making making movies for you so much anymore, as Chinese companies begin to invest heavily in Hollywood and China is predicted to overtake the US in ticket Revenue. So it's no surprise this trend is only going to get much, much worse as the target audience begins to shift from the US to China. Especially considering a lot of movies are now being jointly financed by Chinese companies. The upcoming Film 'The Great Wall' is a perfect example of what I'm talking about, Hollywood backed, Chinese Money and staff, as far as I can tell the Chinese audience in mind, and.... Matt Damon (and Willem Dafoe?).... For some reason.
If people stop seeing bad movies, maybe Hollywood will stop making bad movies?
No pls not a The Mummy remake I loved the original, it was perfect in every way, it doesn't need a reboot make it stoP
Which original are we talking about here, the 1999 version or the 1932 version?
What the fuck? Why???
it's sad because there's no brendan fraser :(
What fucking lunatic decided there needed to be a third cars movie Cars 1 was already pretty weak compared to Disney standards, Cars 2 might be the worst piece of shit they have ever released and now after that giant failure they want to try it again? This is why we have to wait until 2019 for incredibles 2, just fuck my shit up
No pls not a The Mummy remake I loved the original, it was perfect in every way, it doesn't need a reboot make it stoP
Tom Cruise stars in this one, if it flops it will probably be the first one for him. Even though I don't like it, the fact that he is behind it should mean they aim really big.
Tom Cruise stars in this one, if it flops it will probably be the first one for him. Even though I don't like it, the fact that he is behind it should mean they aim really big.
It also has Russell Crowe as Doctor Jekyll. I'm confused.
What fucking lunatic decided there needed to be a third cars movie
It's John Lassater's pet franchise and they make a fucking truckload on merchandising so of course Disney is going to okay it regardless of quality.
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm sick and tired of everything being a "cinematic universe" nowadays. A Ghostbusters Cinematic Universe? Consisting of what? Ghostbusters and more Ghostbusters? Were they planning on doing a Slimer origin story?
The only one that I'm ok with is the MCU and only because they started it very early (in 2008) and they are pulling it off very well.
it's sad because there's no brendan fraser :(
They should get Brendan to play the mummy itself, no makeup required.
it's almost as though the films industry is hitting saturation point with sequels and reboots, to the point that even the general public is starting to get sick of them
Isn't this also because they expect them to be HUGE hits? Like, make even, means its awful, make triple the evening ammount, still awful for them?

I thought they cancelled the monster universe because Dracula untold wasn't as popular as hoped
I thought they cancelled the monster universe because Dracula untold wasn't as popular as hoped
Did anyone like Dracula Untold? As a self confessed vampire fanboy I thought it was mediocre and not really worth seeing.
a jumanji remake? wtf i've been annoyed by remakes in the past, but this one is literally offensive
This is a bad time for me to be a film major
How many years of flops can hollywood take before it finally dies? oh and can we please let the music industry die too? we need new ones
I thought they cancelled the monster universe because Dracula untold wasn't as popular as hoped
Why couldn't they just make a normal fucking Dracula movie? Just re-adapt the book again. It's been done dozens of times of but it's better than making a stupid prequel.
a jumanji remake? wtf i've been annoyed by remakes in the past, but this one is literally offensive
Apparently it's not a remake. It's a sequel
Hollywood has become completely detached from the rest of society, it's insane. They keep making the same mistakes and then are confused when they once again fail. And then they try to do it again anyway.
I don't even bother following the industry, not saying there aren't good movies being made but even the "good" ones don't catch my interest, I'd rather just go and look for films made before 2005 and find much more interesting stuff in both concept and execution than the current generic stuff.
How many years of flops can hollywood take before it finally dies? oh and can we please let the music industry die too? we need new ones
This is me when I think about Bollywood as well. The industry seems heavily confused as to why people aren't lapping up the same formulaic garbage year after year.
The most recent hollywoodian film I really enjoyed was probably Mad Max: Fury Road
It
ehhhhh [t]http://www.ew.com/sites/default/files/i/2016/08/16/pennywise-ew-00054120.jpg[/t] Seems like they tried way too hard to make it scary
this lsit of movies can be summed up in one quote by a vcr repairman movies make me want to be dead
[t]http://www.ew.com/sites/default/files/i/2016/08/16/pennywise-ew-00054120.jpg[/t] Seems like they tried way too hard to make it scary
he look's FUCKING retarded
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Kingsman 2 Spider-Man: Homecoming Dunkirk Only ones I have any expectation of them being good. Like, I'm sure Transformers and the animated movies and probably Pirates of the Caribbean will all do well enough to avoid being considered flops, but not actually good.
I am legit hyped for Kingsman 2, the first movie was fun.
