Hey, whatever happened to that whole 'separation of church and state' thing that was supposed to be one of the most sacred core foundations of the United States?
When Republicans decided that the US is suppose to be a Christian nation while hating on other governments that run their government by a religion.
I wish I could see a chart of people who regretted their vote for Trump, because the way things have been from my perspective, it seems like his support base is growing
Bernie would've won, but I'm going to turn it into my fucking mantra right now: Hillary would've been a better president. Hillary would've been a better president and I have no doubt in my mind that it's true. It's amazing how quickly the republicans have turned my minor disillusionment with the dems into burning rage against their party. It'll take a lot to ever get me to vote republican even once in my life after these past few weeks, even if it's the pragmatic choice.
Hillary had everything going for her until the words "emails" were uttered one last time by the FBI director. Her lead dropped like a rock after that news leaked. I was following 538 religiously enough to see it happen.
Honestly, I don't know if I'm even angry at this point. I mean I should be, but at this stage of the game it's like getting angry at the sunrise: You know it's going to happen, it's going to keep happening every day.

To get people to stop caring so he can get away with more stuff.
'MAGA MAGA MAGA' and dumb rhetoric shit doesn't offer anything new or constructive either and guess who hasn't stopped [editline]2nd February 2017[/editline] yknow, as opposed to a retort against one of the most idiotic excuses to think a trump presidency is a good idea

so, every single post ever made by trump supporters over the past year?
So you're going to stoop down to their level of idiocy? Instead of being the better side?
I remember distinctly that this useless quip was used as a primary campaign topic
Yes, but not anymore, so I don't know why people have to keep bringing it up, especially in that kind of manner.
the few trump voters that I talk to went all crazy with excuses, naturally >the amendment only fucks over republicans, not democrats, so this will level the playing field >good thing im not a single issue voter >america was fine before the amendment, so it'll be fine when its gone like pottery.
We're making America the 1700s again lads
More like the 1600's. If Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin saw this they'd call it objectively stupid.
Can anyone justify this?
well if you run say a megachurch that is founded on the principle of making people (poor especially) pay their way into heaven then you'd be worried about loosing your tax shelter status when you want to get involved in endorsing politicians as being ordained by god himself!
We're a stone's throw away from an authoritarian theocracy.
I've posted this before but it looks like I'm gonna be binding it to a hotkey and smashing that shit for months.
That's what Trump wants. To get people to stop caring so he can get away with more stuff.
Whoa now, I still care, I just don't see the point in bursting a blood vessel when he does something stupid again.
Whoa now, I still care, I just don't see the point in bursting a blood vessel when he does something stupid again.
Like I said Inoculated. You, yourself, probably have a realistic handle on when you should get mad. But the general population? We can't have that certainty anymore. The general public is becoming inoculated to his bullshit, allowing him to get away with some seriously bad things.
so is our future gonna be post-apocalyptic and centered around religious conflict or corporate cyberpunk stuff because both look like they're becoming feasible
It very subtly terrifies me that the Bad End for Liberal Crime Squad is even a slightly plausible result of how the Trump administration can turn out.
"Trump is pro-LGBT guys" [editline]2nd February 2017[/editline] I fucking dare you say Trump is pro-LGBT one more god damn time
clearly a lie he took a picture with a rainbow flag once so i know he's not bad
Fuck this is pretty much anti-christian as well. I am almost positive it's not a christian thing to do to force your viewpoints on other people and force them to follows those rules. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
It is, actually, very anti-Christian. Jesus said to separate political matters from spiritual and religious matters: So, I think that Jesus may have believed in a basic form of secularism.
Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's
You can read more about this and different interpretations of it here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Render_unto_Caesar I am not a believer myself, but I sometimes find myself agreeing with some of the things in the bible.
Can anyone justify this?
Churches were doing it anyway. And the IRS wasn't punishing them.
Churches were doing it anyway. And the IRS wasn't punishing them.
that doesn't justify it
Am I entitled to leave this burning wreckage yet or do I still need to "give him a chance"?
Impeach the dickhead. Wonder if an American uprise may be something we actually witness in our lifetime, never would have though till the orangutan made the scene
I've always wanted to live in a theocracy.
Every passing day makes me think that the NSF might have a point.
smashthestate Seriously though, that's pretty fucked up. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it went through though. Politicians are self serving cunts, after all.
Impeach the dickhead. Wonder if an American uprise may be something we actually witness in our lifetime, never would have though till the orangutan made the scene
Way things are going, it'd probably be more than something that could happen. It'd be something that should happen, though I highly doubt it would be clean by any measure.
