Charlie Hebdo finds controversy again with new cartoon
The point is they should be allowed to do so without having to be afraid somebody comes over and shoots them for making funny pictures.
People need to understand that just because somebody is making fun of something you don't think is funny, it doesn't mean you need to do something about it
awfully petty for a magazine to bust out the mass shooting of their employees to distract from how bad a publisher they are. the business model at this point is basically, formulaic joke on the assumption that offensive in itself = top notch humor --> random non-sequitur like "i have the right to make that joke" on realizing nobody found it funny --> everyone forgets how bad a comedian you are in the ensuing argument --> everyone figures you must be funny if you're so controversial --> repeat until international acclaim
The thing about the original Charlie Hebdo cartoon, the one that caused the massacre, is the fact that it wasn't targeted at any one person, place, event, or thing aside from a in-general attempt to poke fun at Islam. This cartoon however, has people who have actually fucking died in it. It's a dick move. It's like if someone made a cartoon about 9/11 or the 7/7 bombings, or even about the Charlie Hebdo massacre itself. However, just because I think it's a dick move doesn't mean it should be censored but regardless it's still a shitty thing.

Pretty much this.
a 10 month old died on this crash, I don't find it funny or even tasteless, just uncomfortable.
The first one was kinda funny, too soon at worst
other one is just bad and tasteless

The second one is too soon and just bad IMO but whatever floats your boat I guess.
It's always funnier when the joke is not about you.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one realized this.
can't say I'm surprised, Charlie Hebdo is a rag even by political cartoon standpoints. They make their money through controversy
