Military options are 'inevitable if North Korea continues'
Yeah lets just stick our heads in the sand and do nothing while an oppressive regime starves, abuses and inslaves tens of millions of people.
To be fair, we've been doing this for thousands of years.
(That is a joke.)

What kind of stinkass argument is that?

I never said not go to war.
But jumping headfirst, cuz our so-called leader has such a tiny dick that he wants to validate himself by bombing a poor country to death, without thinking of the consequences seems like an awful fucking idea no?
I wish real life was as easy as a Civilization game too but it's not.

I'm vehemently anti-Trump, but to suggest that this issue purely stems from his insecurities about his tiny hands is naive and disrespectful to the people of NK who are suffering.
Right, I did forget South Korea... somewhat.
Besides the fact that for many years it was an extremely brutal and repressive dictatorship, and not a democracy. See here.
As well as that, nearly 60 years I would count as a very long time, especially when those lessons weren't applied afterwards.
So even going with the idea that it would end up like the middle east afterwards, what are our other options to either stop North Korea from developing weapons? Other options for turning it into something other than a despotic dictatorship?
If your issue is with the US leading the effort: Who else is fit to? The only other nations anywhere near capable are China and Russia, who are very distant 2nds, and not exactly who someone who has Western values at heart would want influencing a new nation, considering you can make an argument that they're the reason they're this way in the first place.
Dislike the US Military, people, Trump, whoever all you want, but if no one else is going to step up to bat when someone absolutely needs to, and soon, why wouldn't we? Ultimately while building north Korea into a nation that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the Democratic world is very desirable, removal of a rogue state that is developing better nukes every day has to be the top priority.

Doesn't matter. The refugee crisis is nothing compared to keeping the regime in power everyday.
Wanna talk about consequences? We didnt got rid of them sooner enough and now they are sucessfully developing WMDs(real ones, not the imaginary ones president bush killed hundreds of thousands over). They are getting better by the day. We call our selves liberators and spreaders of democracy while we let a place like North Korea to exists.
We could just not do nothing. Make more funny memes about them and wait until they finally are fully capable and become a much harder threat to overcome in the near future.

Nah man, let's just keep calling him le epic funny meme names and repeating hackneyed insults from late night TV instead of treating him like the serious threat to our well-being that he is

Nice. Two strawmans in 2 consecutive posts.
Sure, let's dismantle and destroy the regime from orbit right now.
What next? We move out and let the South Koreans deal with it? We occupy it and piss off our East Asian neighbors? We install a "democratic" government and hope for the best?
Clearly, military action or some form is inevitable but think of the consequences is all I'm saying.
Lmao, insinuating that my argument is just "let's just sit back and make memes" about it is disingenuous at best.

So are you going to start posting your suggestions on how to deal with North Korea mr. armchair general? Or just post shitty arguments and then going:
"Clearly, military action of some form is inevitable" which is basically what I just said and you are arguing against me about 🤔

Oh right, I forgot, I'm the armchair general haha.
Sorry, sorry. I forgot your sound argument consisted of:
You need to chill bro, your epic zingers about what you think I think about the whole thing is wrong. I never once said we shouldn't go to war or that we should let the oppressive regime continue, I just brought up the consequences of the fact.
If it was so easy, why haven't we done it before?
Better question, if the US hails itself as an interventionist "but not really", what do you think is going to happen after we slaughter the regime. Honest question.

Jfc I didn't say that he's not the threat that he is, I'm saying that simplifying the entire NK situation to, "lol Trump's small dick needs overcompensation so let's go bomb NK" is ridiculous.
Does his small dick syndrome play a part in this? Most definitely.
Does the situation need to be handled anyway? Most definitely.
A war with Donald Trump at the wheel. My biggest concerns are that:
1. He really doesn't like refugees. Neither do any of NK's neighbors. He would be introducing a second crisis and throwing it on smaller countries who could easily topple under the stress.
2. He doesn't have any reason for peace. With all the controversies about handing over Afghanistan to a PMC, and his ties to Blackwater, this war would be military-industrial complex on steroids. Remember how much he fought to increase our military budget during peacetime - he would be making the GOP and military contractors swoon by drawing out the war as long, and as expensive & deadly, as possible.
3. He thinks he's good at making deals. He really isn't. You can say goodbye to negotiating with China on why we just bombed their ally, and Putin would love for him to be the first aggressor in killing Russia's trade partner. In fact, you might be able to rule out any negotiation with our allies, since Trump loves to impuvisely explode things without giving anyone warning.
4. And even if we do win, his "deal" will, again, try to get a full score for America and fuck over the people of NK. He couldn't give less of a shit about the civilians of North Korea, and you're probably falling for the war propaganda if you think this is a Trump humanitarian streak. This is WMDs-in-Iraq 2, meant solely to stop talk about Russia or impeachment ("we're at war! we can't overthrow our leader! PATRIOT ACT!") and make a lot of money for a lot of people, especially his family PMC and those Republicans who want nothing more than war profit. Which is a fun time in poor countries in the middle east, but:
5. We have everything to lose in a nuclear war. This is like the dark timeline version of the Cuban missile crisis, except JFK decides to carpet bomb Havana. "Why can't we use nukes?" Remember that? We're playing with, potentially, the end of America here. Watch the movie Threads for a good idea of what would actually happen when we start using nuclear bombs. Trump does not care about the risks, and never has.

Dont know cant see into the future bro 😞. A long refugee process that'll take years and it defineitly going to suck but still miles ahead better doing nothing or wasting time.
North Korea needs to be swifty and utterly destroyed.
Ah yes, the good old "outer enemy" to distract from the own fuckups.
Guess it can't be the Russians right now, eh?

I hate Trump but you would have to be blind to the danger North Korea is.
i think some of y'all are getting a little carried away by the prospect of starting a war to stop a war that isn't happening and that no one really wants

Oh fuck off with that mentality. Spent a few years as a NK labor camp prisioner then tell us why we shouldnt do anything about NK.
Oh fuck off with that mentality. Spent a few years as a NK labor camp prisioner then tell us why we shouldnt do anything about NK.
Spend a few years in an assortment of African countries and tell me why we shouldn't focus our efforts on something much more productive with a people who haven't been brainwashed.

because in the first few hours around 80,000 innocent south koreans are estimated to die followed by 300,000 in the ensuing days, with no certain goals, unintended consequences waiting around ever corner, and the almost inevitable heightening of tensions between three of the world's global military powers to a boiling point. i'll pass.
tell me why we shouldn't focus our efforts on something much more productive with a people who haven't been brainwashed.
Last time I checked, African countries weren't threatening first world nations with ICBMs and nukes.
Spend a few years in an assortment of African countries and tell me why we shouldn't focus our efforts on something much more productive with a people who haven't been brainwashed.
So fuck the millions of North Koreans huh? You do know that the vast majority of them are not a brainwashed hivemind.
Say when North Korea finally goes too far what are your suggestions? Sit on our asses and going "starving africans!"?
I am from africa lmfao If you actually gave a fuck about "african countries"(such a broad fucking term. Not all of africa is a warzone) then stop stripping us from our own natural resources, stop buying our blood diamonds, educate our youth and make real investments.

Well good thing real life politics are not influenced by your ignorant and misguided choice. Your pass is meaningless.
Starting tensions with 3 global military powers? Lol dude China is not going to destroy their own economy and go to war with the US to save North Korea. Do you know anything about geopolitics?

As if this provocation has anything to do with Trump's sympathy for North Koreans and is going to do jack-shit to help them once he levels Pyongyang?

buddy i appreciate that you value other people's lives and that you have a hard time abiding evil, pointless cruelty and suffering. we're on the same page and that's exactly why this particular war is as hard a pass for me as it is for the US diplomatic establishment
Yeah let's just let them bomb Seoul to hell and nuke the Japanese. Do you genuinely believe this?
No? Why did you even bring this up? This is ridiculous.
Trump using a very real danger as a diversion like all the other powerhungry leaders of the world did, Erdogan with Güllen, Kim Yong Un with the US and so on doesn't mean that the danger is any less real.
Tbh. I am kind of dumbfounded that you would make such a ludicrous assumption.
we should have gone into north korea 10 years ago
we should have gone into north korea 10 years ago
When Bush really wanted to invade something he should've picked N. Korea not Iraq.
we should have gone into north korea 10 years ago
Except China would have absolutely blocked it and caused an even bigger war.
China is certainly much, much less enthusiastic in their support for North Korea and sort of acknowledges something needs to be done.
That was not the case 10 years ago.
Again, I reiterate, something does need to be done about North Korea, but it needs to very, very carefully done. Else there will be catastrophic effects for the world and Asia in particular.

Hey man, don't take it so personally. I wasn't attacking you in specific, just drawing attention to the fact that most attacks on Trump (even in mass media and in person) boil down to "hurr Drumpf" and "haha dorito man has tiny hands"
