Survey: Europeans back Muslim veil ban, Americans oppose
So if I say 'I hate gay people' and TH89 bans me for being a Homophobe, he banned me for being scared of gay people?
No, no. You are analyzing it incorrectly.
Homophobia = the irrational fear of gays. Usually the term is used not correctly to describe anyone hating gay people, though also usually they fear them as well (like "ew, you are gay, don't touch me").
Thank god, they destroy our culter where they can!
Schützenfest ( german festival, once in a year) was cancelled, because some Turkish fuckwitzs complained about alcohol being drunk there.
If we would have said "No", they would play the race crad, and that combined with our history-->Not good.
Teaching German children Turkish so these pigs have one thing in school they are good at, is also not fair.
Just sayin..
Derp, no
Sorry, we don't have mob rule and for a good reason.
Thank god for that. Mobs get plus fifty to their grapple check!
I personally don't like veils because of the huge social barrier they make, muslims in Ireland who wear the veil rarely socialise with any people other than other Muslims. Just my two cents.
Social barriers are a two way street.
The other day I walked past a Mexican dude on the street. He was frowning and avoiding eye contact. Then I said good morning and he smiled and waved. Most white people probably do to him what he was doing to me. You can't always blame the other person for a social barrier if you're not doing anything about it yourself.

it's hard to fix a social barrier when no one cares to listen

No, it's fear or DISLIKE of gays. Look it up. People aren't using it incorrectly.

Stop being a pussy and do it anyway
I talk to Muslims every day at work. Some of them are surly. Some of them are as friendly as anyone.
I said hello to a black man once and he told me to fuck off.
What about identification? People can't be identified if they're wearing this:
[img_thumb]http://desdemirincon.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/burka.jpg[/img_thumb]
It's like an unsuspecious mask. It can be used for robberies, for instance...
I like hijabs way better.

ban burqas fine, but not hijabs
I would tell you to fuck off too.
Are you going to stop talking to white people too
I would take you out to a nice sea food dinner.
Derp, no. I'm pretty sure those ''fuckwitzs'' were being bleedy dicks and just so happened to be Turkish as well. Also the other stuff you said was pretty stupid.
Have you been to Germany? Live there for a month and you will agree with me
Not in public
I already said I'm not for banning them. Someone pointed out that they could be used in robberies to mask the person's identity, and I pointed out that most banks have had a sweeping rule that would include veils and burqas in place for years.
No, it's fear or DISLIKE of gays. Look it up. People aren't using it incorrectly.

Well that's true, but it used to mean only fear, and then people used it for hate and the term stuck to hate as well.
Anyway, you can act against Islam without being Islamophobic. Here's another example: criticizing Sharia law, it's not being Islamophobic, it's a true concern for something Islam-related that is easily explained and is completely rational.
Just like a person can be a bigot towards Christian and say that all Christians are morons or whatever, and then another person can say that Christianity is wrong on abortions for the reasons of X and Y, he's not being a bigot or "christianophobic", he is criticizing Christianity without any bad connotations.
Another example to set things straight, criticizing Israel isn't antisemitic all of the time, and when someone is called antisemite for criticizing Israel everyone here gets all pissed, but then someone criticizes Islam and everyone calls him Islamophobic. Clearly this isn't always the case, and there are valid points of criticism against Islam which don't make someone Islamophobic.
It's a stupid as hell argument to begin with.
"Shit, I need to rob this bank but burkas are against the law! I better not risk it."
Im not sure about this but aren't there more muslims in Europe than in America? At least here in Sweden i see a lot of burqas/veils, spend a day in Stockholm and you are bound to see over a hundred.
Spend a day in the suburbs where the amount of immigrants are average 80% (from Swedish Wikipedia, i do not know how accurate it is) and you will see thousands.
Im all for religious freedom but i can imagine that others see it as opression, that these women are forced to dress like ninjas by husbands/fathers because of something they might not even believe in.

but they're not all forced to. I don't understand how people don't get that it's possible for a woman to be a devout Muslim and choose to wear a burqa of her own free will. In western countries, if they're being forced to wear one, they have a legal recourse against their husbands. Some might be intimidated into wearing them and be afraid of leaving their husband, sure, but to act like that's always the case, or even the case most of the time, is dumb.
You wanna talk about oppressing women, talk about the government saying "you're not allowed to wear burqas, it's for your own good. Trust us, we know better than you"
What do you mean? Quite a few people are against Islam, and thus those who follow it, because of the shit in their holy book.
The irony is that, most of those people are followers of a Holy Book with just as much shit in it.
Let's clear this out now: there is no shit in any holy book over another... there are a shitton of bullshit in almost every interpretation of any holy book mostly because they take a grand shit on the message of equallity and tolerance and quickly become elitist towards anyone who aren't as skullfucked as themselves.

but atheists don't hate people just because they believe in God and think they're better than religious people?
We're a lot more tolerant because America is not entirely made up of dumb fat asshole rednecks. It just seems that way because they're the loudest and the dumbest, so the media pays the most attention to them.

I'm atheist and I don't think I'm better than anyone else.
Hell if anything I'm below religious people.

All beliefs have their militant sides.
Even Pacifism?
Even Pacifism?
Albert Einstein was a self described Militant Pacifist
(he was also a democratic socialist btw)
That's a good point honesly. IIRC such law has passed in Belgium/France?
I kind of agree also. It'd be very easy for a criminal, for example, to disguise himself as a Muslim woman and blend in. It would also be very easy for a Muslim woman to rob with, as she could conceal her identity to blend in.

East Germany is big on neo-nazis. In the DDR days they were taught that Hitler's actions weren't their fault, and it still shows today.
They actually weren't
banning things will end oppression
