Blah. These forums quit when I tried posting earlier. Anyways. The engine test helped my map making quite a bit. Being able to see the perspectives of the players and size.
Why does this look exactly like Doom 3?
Why does this look exactly like Doom 3?
took the words out of my mouth, Looks like doom 3 with more polygons. :colbert:
Its like Next Gen Doom to me too. Needs something to make it look more colorful, its to generic looking, and is it all inside?
more like fanboys. also did you know that things like free tech demo can make MORE people buy the game?
People are allowed to be interested in things and follow their development without being called fanboys idiot. If they released it to public people like you would bitch and moan about how there is no content in it
Its like Next Gen Doom to me too. Needs something to make it look more colorful, its to generic looking, and is it all inside?
Most of it. Large rooms give the infantry an advantage because of their ability to shoot long distances. The aliens are more of a flankable guerilla kind of team. Open spaces would give the lerk class (winged flying biter and shooter) more room to fly, but really it's just skeet shooting otherwise. Aside from that, there's no way to restrict the lerk from flying away if he gets the chance to go "outside".
at least in the Source engine movement works properly and the view model doesn't clip through geometry.
I was about to call you out on how ignorant that post was but someone already beat me to it. This is an engine test, probably wise to not comment on something you clearly don't understand. What do you class as movement 'working properly'? Do you have the source code that handles the entire movement? Why isn't it working properly? What would you change? Would you even understand what the code was doing?
