She was a fucking dumbass of the highest calibre, don't try and defend it, you don't need anything more than a basic knowledge of the human body or even personal experience to realise that if you're hungry you require food.
But if your personal experience is powerful enough then anything is possible, (MY OPINION).
Just check this 83 yr old guy: (as pointed out earlier)

Note that the article points out that two separate sets of monitoring took place over 15 days, and his previous life isn't accounted for.

Do you know how many fucks I give over a single incident that cannot be reproduced?
None, zero, nil fucks.
This dumb bitch thought she was clearly able to extract energy from sunlight, despite the fact she's not a plant, and therefore in my eyes she is a dribbling mongo and humanity is better off without her.
This isn't how natural selection works.
You're missing the joke
Praise the sun.
You can't leave a car engine out in the sun, and expect it to run all fine and dandy. You're body is a molecular machine, fuckin' stuff your face if you want to live!
Just for the record:

This is a religious mindset..
That woman angers me because in her videos you can see people who intend to fast like she did just for the sake of losing weight. :(
This just seems like a bad idea. You need to eat...or you die.
Charging solarbeam?
The thing is, even if this is possible, you can't go from a steady diet to a 21-day fast. You have to start out with a 1-day, 2-day, week-long fast to adjust to the change. As much as the lack of nourishment killed her it was also the rapid and drastic change in her body and lifestyle, just like going from warm to cold weather quickly will likely get you sick.
Take that you fucking hippies
Anyone remember that monk who claimed to have lived for years on end without food? He was taken into a lab for study and he hadn't actually eaten anything.
Source? I seriously doubt you could live years without eating, the most you can go is two months max, your body would literally eat itself with your stomach acids.

what a great human being you are, taking joy out of another human being dying.
Just because someone has some clear mental issues doesn't mean the human race is better off without them. You're getting into Nazi eugenics right here.
That's more within the realms of doing something idiotic. Now, a lot of you may disagree here and I sense I'll receive some boxes for saying this, but I don't think she was idiotic. This falls within the purview of philosophy and belief, where she happened to be misguided and wrong.
But it's not dumb, I'd say. Merely misinformed.
EDIT: Misinformed was perhaps not the right word to express what I meant.
uh philosophy can be as wrong as anything else

There's no need to even mention that here as most of facepunch are arrogant 16~ year olds with a very narrow view of the human mind and intelligence.
So she tried to become a plant?
Anyone remember that monk who claimed to have lived for years on end without food? He was taken into a lab for study and he hadn't actually eaten anything.
he was buddhist/hindu, right?
Anyone remember that monk who claimed to have lived for years on end without food? Ergo, he's a fraud, just like everyone else who claims such a thing.
what a great human being you are, taking joy out of another human being dying.
Who said I took joy in her death?
Let's face the facts here people, she thought she could survive off of sunlight alone. Now I dunno about you guys, but I happen to know when I get hungry I go and eat some food, not sit in the fucking sunlight for a little while and feel better.
She was clearly very mentally unstable, or a complete, drooling, knuckle dragging dumbass.
These are facts.
what a great human being you are, taking joy out of another human being dying.
He's not taking joy out of it?
Natural selection at work.
No it isn't. She has not only already reached a fertile age, she has PASSED it.
Natural selection only applies to things that kill people before they can effectively procreate.
This is just her being a fucking moron.

Isn't natural selection just them dying before they actually pass on their genes and not just reaching fertility? Not trying to be snide or anything, just legitimately can't remember.
What a dumbass.

How is it not dumb? It's pretty common knowledge that you need food to live, and that the sun is not food. Even plants will die if the only thing they get is sunlight.
most likely she died from not drinking.
i have starved longer without dying.
there is a reason we aren't plants, dumbass.
Maybe if she'd been bitten by a radioactive spider plant it would've worked...

Is he pleading with a sniper here or?
Are we really debating whether it's possible to live without food and water in here?
This is silly.
