This is probably going to do more harm than good, people won't like to know that their MasterCards and Visas are useless because the government wants to play white knight on foreign affairs/shit that doesn't concern the country. If they really want to support Wikileaks doing stupid shit might as well just block trade with USA.
Iceland: We block our trades of some fish to you. What you gun do bout dat.
They're not trying to "kill" them. They just made a smart move by backing out to avoid this international mess.
I like this chain of banning. Who's going to ban Iceland for banning Mastercard for banning Wikileaks now?
Australia
Can't pay EVE with Mastercard now. Fuck.
may ban Mastercard and visa. And since when is the money used by credit cards been money on their account? Do you know how credit cards work? They're pretty fucking retarded to be honest.
What about Debit cards?
But it isn't one man. If it were one man we wouldn't know about it. Julian Assange wouldn't be anything without the hundreds of people leaking documents to him. Or hundreds of people telling thousands of people about it (Journalists.) It really is a contributed effort.
If he wouldn't have created Wikileaks those leaks would probably not have happened.
Finally someone doesn't have their fucking dick being manhandled by the US. [editline]15th December 2010[/editline]
Injustice? Where is the injustice? They were two companies that didn't want to risk getting caught up in a legal shitstorm. Do they not have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason? Are they going to be forced to serve everyone? How is that justice?
Power to the people, FOR THE CREDIT CARDS!
What about Debit cards?
Debit cards are completely different-- they link to a bank account, where people spend money they actually own. Mastercard nor visa has debit cards so I don't understand what you're trying to get at by challenging what I said about credit.

It's okay because they're shutting down corporations who didn't do anything illegal because we disagree with them
I have never heard of a visa debit card. Where I am from, when someone refers to a debit card, they are referring to a bank card. I do not know visa or mastercard as banks.

This allows you to use the card anywhere that credit card is accepted because you have access to that network. It's very much the norm inside the United States and has effectively completely universalized our debit and credit card systems within the United States.
