its a mild and vaguely dancable song that recalls the worst of the disco age with its ambivalent playing and "soul" vocals
idk it just feels unloved. i dont feel like its 2 french dudes who were strung out on noise and wanted to hear their shit in a french club so they started dubbing cassettes with their weird mixes.
i feel like its a sterile pop song thats going for a cheeky nod towards a music style that no-one forgot because its already the rage anyway (seriously, the DFA is already killing the disco shit with incredible tunes):

like i know everyone'll just accuse me of being a hipster or just being an ass or whatever but this is what i genuinely feel and its a forum so deal with it
idk im sure itll appeal to like the younger kids who dont have their hand deep in the cookie jar of dance music (not being condescending, no one was born knowing everything about dance music) but to people like me whove heard those disco tunes and their modern tributes it just feels like daft punk isnt trying anymore like they did with homework; and thats pretty disappointing to me because i really did love homework.

I actually prefer this to Daft Punk's older stuff, it's less repetitive and the music has more of a mellow tone.

well, take this thread, for example. I think this is the only thread in SH that was created just for a new song coming out. (at the very least, a thread like this is rare) I mean, [I]why[/I] is this in SH? It's not news really, it's just a song. but there seems to be this phenomenon specific to Daft Punk where their fans arbitrarily attribute this almost monumental importance to the duo that really makes no sense at all, like Daft Punk is the end-all, be-all of music, the alpha and the omega, etc. I guarantee that if this thread was about Major Lazer, Tool, or Shpongle coming out with a new track, it would have been DDT'd minutes after its creation for not being in the right section
from personal experience, a lot of Daft Punk fans (clearly not all) just seem to get pissy and oddly offended if someone else doesn't agree that Daft Punk are the gods of electronic music. (worse yet, music [I]period[/I]) Daft Punk has come up in conversation with people before, and after expressing that I wasn't the biggest fan it seemed to come as a huge shock, with reactions like "You don't like Daft Punk? Whaaaat?!" I mean, I'm not a fan of Daft Punk, I'll admit it, but I can appreciate their contributions to the music scene as well as their influence on other inspiring musicians, and like I said, they're obviously talented. but I've been told not once that "Daft Punk rules" and that I should go fuck myself for thinking otherwise, and it just seems like you don't really see that kinda attitude with other fandoms. I have heard and read about the same from others as well.

I love Daft Punk by the way, I really love house, disco house/filter house music. The groove is incredible on Get Lucky, but I just really don't feel it at all, especially with the dude's vocals.
