People don't really appreciate topless people of any gender, unless you are at places like the beach or beach cities.
Why is it suddenly okay in those specific areas? How many arbitrary lines do you intend to draw?
Compromise
women can now go topless, but men get to go full nude
Flat-chested would have to keep tops on. Somewhat related, very young girls, like toddlers, would have no issues of course.
Women with breasts removed... shit I dunno, I guess
This is the part where your argument falls flat on its face.
First you said it was because "they have more to show", and now you're saying that even when they have less or the same amount as men "to show", they still aren't allowed. Sounds hypocritical to me.
Compromise

as shitty as that sounds it would not appease the liberals and they would demand nudism for all!
They seem to be pretty much doing that already but

bro it's not about size, god fuck
Furthermore are there any legitimately, completely flat chested girls? Like if you looked at her chest you would have no indication it was merely a very hairless guy? Because that would imply some deficiency to me

Hey how about let everyone either go topless if they want or make everyone keep a shirt on regardless of sex (former is better)

I'm not referring to size, I'm referring to your explanation about what you meant by "more to show". Flat-chested women's breasts appear less developed, that's what I'm talking about.
However, this is irrelevant to the argument. There is no legitimate civil rights reason not to allow them to go shirtless. And no, "they have more developed breasts and they offend my sensibilities" is not a legitimate civil rights reason.
Hey how about let everyone either go topless if they want or make everyone keep a shirt on regardless of sex (former is better)
I think women would rather keep wearing bras and shirts.
Hey how about let everyone either go topless if they want or make everyone keep a shirt on regardless of sex (former is better)
Honestly I'd have no law about restrictions on clothing, because what crime against society is that kind of law preventing? Who is it protecting?
[editline]28th September 2011[/editline]
I think women would rather keep wearing bras and shirts.
And your problem with letting them choose not to if they want to is...?
Still not explaining why this makes it illegal to go shirtless. If you're going to base on sexual development, what about flat-chested girls, what about women who had to have their breasts removed via surgery? You're drawing an arbitrary line with no logical basis for it.
It's been okay for a pre-pubescent girl to walk around on the beach without a shirt.
I wouldn't really want to go topless for long. Gravity is a bitch, if you know what I mean.

I think women would rather keep wearing bras and shirts.
This, big time.

It's slutty to show off your goods to everyone.
It's slutty to show off your goods to everyone.
Even if that's what you think, are you saying we should keep it illegal?
It's slutty to show off your goods to everyone.
prepare for shitstorm, everyone knows the concept of a slut is forbidden
God damn who cares
wheres the pic?
This, big time.
So if they don't go shirtless, that's fine. If they want to, that's fine too. What's the problem?

It's fucking stupid, but irrelevant to the current discussion.

No please, go ahead and be shallow.
Even if that's what you think, are you saying we should keep it illegal?
Yeah I think it's a bit ridiculous to toss a woman into jail for doing it but on the other hand, it isn't really acceptable. I know things are different over the pond but I'd rather save my first pair of breasts for my first sexual experience. I want the same for my son.

It isn't acceptable? Civil rights have no bearing on what you think is or is not "acceptable" attire. I traveled to Europe and saw topless women at the beach, it's hardly "unacceptable". When I see topless men out around town it's no problem, it should be the same for women.

I agree, men shouldn't walk around topless unless they're at the beach because it's fucking gross.
So if they don't go shirtless, that's fine. If they want to, that's fine too. What's the problem?
The problem is that THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WANT WOMEN TO WEAR SHIRTS, a majority that includes women.
That's what living in a democratic society means. Just because a few people want women to be able to go topless doesn't mean they should be allowed. If everyone wanted to be able to go topless, you would probably get that right. But, not everyone wants to, so you don't.

Again, civil rights has no bearing on whether or not you think what someone does is "gross". No one should be getting arrested for vomiting in public, nor should they be for being nude in public, etc. No "gross" behavior is worth making illegal in any way, shape, or form.

We live in a democratic republic, not a pure democracy. What you're describing is tyranny of the majority.

the difference being that it's pretty uncommon to eat some bad clams which suddenly fill you with the urge to take off your clothing and run around

So I presume you have no problem with people shitting on the streets?

You're making a decision for a hypothetical son who is the same age as you are now.

No, they should freely be able to do it so we can see which ones are sluts and which are not.
Who said that?
You haven't had your first sexual experience and you want your son to not see boobies until his first sexual experience so I guess it all depends on that little rascal's ability to score but I doubt the age discrepancy will be notable.
