imagine needing to filter your water
So we basically have to choose between drinking flouride in the tap or buying water from an evil corporation like this? Where the fuck do I get my water now

A lake or the sky.

Sometimes the water just tastes like ass so people like filtering it. Doesn't mean it's not drinkable as is...
A lake or the sky.
Sorry but if you watched MacGyver you'd know that companies poison the lakes too, and the rain is only water that came from those lakes
I drink my water from the sky
"A Canadian spokes person apologized to nestle for calling them out on it. He proceeded to help bottle water"
I live about 25 minutes away from the Nestle plant in Ontario and this stuff has been well known for a long time.
An article from a year ago: http://www.canadians.org/fr/node/8431
I am personally worried because my house uses a well for water, because there are so many aquifers around here, (that's why Nestle is here). And I'm worried because what if they take so much water that our own well runs dry, then we have to hook into the city's water system which would cost a lot. There is a sewer on our street and water but it's new so we would have to pay to hook into the system, which would rip through our entire basement.
Paying for bottled water is bs, it should be a lot cheaper, it's such a basic necessity.

It depends on whether or not his house is fed by a well or a city line.
For instance, the well water at my previous house had so much calcium it was undrinkable without heavy filtration. But the city line at my current house doesn't need filtration.

It's probably less to filter dirt and shit out of the water and more to remove anything picked up in the pipe like limescale or other such shit. Limescale gives water quite a noticeable taste.
How can Nestlé still exist after all this shit?
Its the same as with the vatican, You can remove figureheads, Discover scandals and denounce them all you want, but it will stay around as long as the money is there.
I have gotten used to drink pretty much exclusively pure filtered water when at home.
When outside, I usually buy a 1.5L of bottled mineral water.
I like nestle bottled water, however I do prefer Smart Water.
you drink water for the taste?
when you drink enough of it you start to notice distinct subtleties in the taste
I find most bottled water tastes very chlorinated where as well water is the best I've ever had, filtered is also pretty good, I should probably buy a filter sometime.
but nestles fucking takes the piss when it comes to shitty ass water.
I was volunteering for my colleges student orientation yesterday and the water we got was nestle bottled and it nearly made me sick, there was something about it that just made it fucking gross.

Smartwater is absurdly expensive.
Smartwater is absurdly expensive.
it makes you smurter
Nestle is a company that goes into developing countries, convinces mothers to feed their children with formula instead of breast milk by giving out free samples, and then by the time the sample is used up the baby will no longer eat anything except the formula so these mothers who already have basically no money are forced to buy more Nestle formula or let their children starve to death
They're not told this will happen ahead of time
Canada is too nice to kick Nestle.
Fuck nestle, I won't buy their products anymore unless I have no other choice. We have a cadburry packaging plant in my city so their stuff is cheaper, for chocolate anyway. Nestle is involved in so much ill have to look at the label before buying now to make sure they don't own the company.
Whhy does everybody hate nestle
Whhy does everybody hate nestle
Because Vanilla is a much better flavor than chocolate.
Sorry but if you watched MacGyver you'd know that companies poison the lakes too, and the rain is only water that came from those lakes
Also, rain water is not exactly pure.. as it falls it collects pollution out of the air.
Sorry, been out all day. Finally found one of the petitions for this issue. Go sign it to at least TRY for some change.

Anyways, no we cannot stop things like this from happening. Too many politicians are in the pockets of corporations like this. But that does not mean we should turn our cheek and pretend it is not going on. Even though, as people have mentioned, it is not just a problem in BC... this type of resource rape is a global issue.
Some countries don have the option to drink tap, such as a lot of places in Turkey. Their water isn't filtered I believe (their water contains a lot of minerals or something that would make you ill and stuff. While countries such as the Uk filter the tap water, hence why it's safe to drink.
And I love tap. I just sometimes buy bottled water, then use the empty bottle to refill it with tap.
This is from the same company whose CEO claimed that water should be privatized.
Fuck Nestle.
It seems like water sources will become controlled by various companies in the future, I hope it doesn't come to that.
i drink tap.
I have lake Michigan tap water. When my cousins came up from Brazil they were absolutely flabbergasted that we drink straight out of the tap. I never buy bottled shit.
I just refill a gallon jug with my tap water.
Look at you plebeians, bow before me and my overpriced Fiji water!
