Or alternatively just putting on a blindfold
Someone waking up in a room like that with an unreachable floodlight, dressed in, as someone else suggested, a suit of the same material, would be absolutely horrifying
I've seen blacker

I wish my walls looked like that.
Before anyone asks: No, it is impossible to have something that's completely black (aka a "black body").

You obviously don't know about Oblivion Knight's soul.
Imagine this as stealth technology
Sheit
You'd be able to pick it up pretty easily. Night time is never pitch black. Only time it would be useful is in a deep hole or super dark tunnel.
Military applications of this new material

Black holes?
Still not as black as my heart.
If you shine a flashlight at it, what happens? Does it stay black?
If you shine a flashlight at it, what happens? Does it stay black?
From what I understand, the difference in color would be unnoticeable.
Black holes?
Hawking radiation means they are not perfectly black.
So we have this amazing-looking new material, and the only image we get of it is one tiny low-quality jpeg. Fantastic.
perfect camoflage for hiding in a hole.
and not much else
its no secret the space shuttle tested out stealth satellites for the millitary at multiple occasions, an invisible satellite would be powerful
Hawking radiation means they are not perfectly black.
What about if you were looking out from the edge of the universe?
The universe doesn't have an edge? It is infinite technically.
and even then there is background radiation all over the damn place from the big bang or something so even if you find a spot without stars and such the "void" would still have radiation in it.
We must use this for the worlds best MK2 Noob Saibot cosplay.
Still not as black as my soul.
Death fucking metal
So how does it look when light is shined directly on it? I'd love to see a room made out of it where you can see yourself perfectly well and that's it.
Imagine being locked in one of those soundproof rooms where the walls, ceiling and floor are coated in that stuff.
I would imagine that to be fucking hell.
Imagine if we got a liquid form of this material, and then someone used it for a tattoo
Imagine if we got a liquid form of this material, and then someone used it for a tattoo
turn it into a green man suit

you see that walking down the street
They need to figure out how to make black pixels on phone screens made of this shit so I don't get glare.
this isn't your every day darkness, this is advanced darkness etc
Imagine being locked in one of those soundproof rooms where the walls, ceiling and floor are coated in that stuff.
Imagine having sex in that room.
Imagine this as stealth technology

In terms of military application this would be pretty much useless. At night, something this dark would be silhouetted against ambient light, be it from the moon, stars or other sources.
