Since the "traitorous" side in the civil war was racist and supported slavery. Therefore, they are equating "lunatic atheists and their lawyers" with the confederates. The irony is that the atheists tend to be more liberal. So they are calling the liberals racist in a semi-clever way. Although I probably went completely off base with it, I sort of like that interpretation. It makes it seem like a slightly more thought out billboard than what it probably is.

I feel like an overwhelming minority. I personally wouldn't vote either way, but i disagree completely with a lot of what Obama is doing. And noo it's not a "hurr durr hate black president" thing. I just disagree with him.
