To be fair that is sort of how technology works, you buy new things and eventually they become outdated and stop being compatible with anything.
I aint gonna pay 100$ just for a updated OS if mine still works fine.

Did you seriously just imply that Firefox is faster than Chrome?
Opera's userbase is actually quite small compared to IE, Firefox, and Chrome.
I know, I was referring to that graph posted in the first post.
IE you'd expect to be the biggest for obvious reasons;
Firefox is almost the same, being the bandwagon everybody jumped onto;
But I'd still expect more people to be using Opera than Chrome.
I want a graph of "people that actually know that other browsers exist and use IE." I'm betting at least 20% of the people in that graph using IE are grandparents and parents who don't know any better.
Just like how Aol's profits were at one point half of people who went to another ISP but kept paying for email.

You're kidding. If you visit Google in a browser like IE it shows a small advert in the top-right. Opera has no major adverts like that.
-snip- because i'm confused on why i made that post and now wont share it with you for some reason

As long as you realise software will stop supporting it, that's fine.

apparantly ie9 support is malware according to avg, i wouldn't blame it, they act as if they are.
It's a shame too. They did run that ad mocking those slow-mo Google ads though hehe.

I could have IE using my whole computer to run a flash animation, but why would I want it to?
IE9 better have some good support for CSS3 and HTML5, or it'll be another failure of a browser in my eyes.
Hopefully it'll render CSS correctly, instead of being a huge pile of shit.

Yeah I didn't see the post above mine, but have an agree
No one else was talking about privacy and tracking until we did it.
Did Microsoft just claim to have invented privacy
Infact holy crap, looking at it, this sounds really good. I haven't seen anything about CSS3 support but it's got good HTML5 support and it looks really fast.
Makes it all the more shameful that I'll probably stick to Chrome.

I was doing some web shit a few months ago and found that IE9 had the best CSS3 support of any browser.

If Microsoft can keep this sort of quality up in future releases, and release regularly so they don't get left behind again, IE will become an acceptable browser choice. Sure, maybe Chrome or Firefox may still be nerds' choice, but Joe Fuckwit with IE will at least be able to do fucking basic shit.
Normally I use Chrome on my computers/laptops, but I recently got my tablet pc, and well IE9 takes the cake for that, the way it handles panning and gestures to browse sites works pretty well in comparison to Chrome.
Did you seriously just imply that Firefox is faster than Chrome?
Of course. Haven't you used it? Aside from startup time, everything else is slow and sluggish compared to Firefox. Most likely because it puts each tab in its own process, which ends up making opening new tabs and switching between tabs heaps slower than it should be.

From what I've used of firefox, chrome, opera, and ie, the speeds seem to be opera is the fastest, then chrome, then IE9, then firefox.
I myself only use ie9 on my tablet, and chrome on my computer, I would use opera but it's a bit too bulky.

All benchmarks disagree with you.
All benchmarks disagree with you.
All real use tests disagree with your "benchmarks".
All real use tests disagree with your "benchmarks".
First of all, there are no 'real use tests,' and second of all, speed has a lot to do with real use. Chrome is twice as fast as Firefox in a lot of areas, actually passes the Acid3 test, and is more secure.
If you can't even admit that Chrome is just faster, then there's a problem with you.
Who still uses IE anyways?
Except the average user with pre-built computers and intergraded video.

Real use test, as in I use it and it's slow. I don't care how fast benchmarks claim something to be, if I'm using it and it's slow, sluggish or otherwise worse than the other browser, I'm going to use the other browser.
Firefox is faster than Chrome on all 3 computers I have (aside from start up time), plus it crashes less, supports more websites, has heaps better addons and has better rendering.
Also it's a goddamn fox crushing the Earth, you can't argue with that!
actually passes the Acid3 test
Isn't Acid3 outdated now? Last I saw, both Chrome and Opera (and I assume FireFox) can get 100%.

I think only chrome gets 100%.

Firefox gets 91% for me... Version 3.6.13
Its funny that most browsers that I install, install themselves and say they're done. Yet IE9 wants to restart my computer to complete the installation.
Unlike the others, IE is heavily tied into Windows, therefore it needs to be restarted in order to be able to update the files that are currently in use on the computer.

No, no, no, no, no. I've used both extensively and I really can't see how you can claim that Firefox is faster. In fact, if Firefox didn't have all the add-ons it has, I wouldn't use it at all.

I have Chrome and Firefox installed on all 3 of my computers. Firefox is faster than Chrome on all of them. Even the 8 year old XP machine can run 4 tabs before it starts slowing up. With Chrome, just opening one tab takes about 10 seconds and tabs often crash while trying to load.
