What is wrong with US Schools? Boy who held pencil like gun suspended

"Zero Tolerance" is code for "lazy, incompetent, overpaid school officials".
Zero tolerance works exactly like abstinence only education, IMO.
It makes kids less and less familiar about a very sensitive subject, and in the end they'll see it as some sort of delicious forbidden fruit. And with no real knowledge about it, they're very likely to end up doing something that will ruin their lives.
What the fuck. Any sane school would report that to the police.
Should've used a VPN/Tor.
I don't think it was traced by IP, I believe the authorities got my skype name by contacting skype because when I went into the office they were like "Are you Dexanemus? Your name is plastered all over that username."

And this is why you never put your real info on Skype if you plan to do prank calling through it

Apparently knowing how to work a hunting shotgun is dangerous mass-murderer thinking but forcing yourself on the nearest girl is just "boys will be boys".
*This just in: Pencils banned in schools nation-wide*
Jesus, whats with these schools.
Im glad mine is so lax about stuff like this.
How the fuck do you hold a pencil like a gun?
How the fuck do you hold a pencil like a gun?
Hold it ontop of your hand with the side of your thumb pressing on the eraser, pointing it at people.
Heh. There was a fad about Zippo lighters in one of my schools. No one really cared as long as the fire alarm didn't go off and we didn't set fire to something (some teacher got annoyed at the ting ting ting sound everywhere though.) Anyway, one of my friends was refilling his with fuel we had bought during lunch. This being in the corridor, someone bumped him and a puddle of highly flammable liquid formed on the floor
The solution: Set fire to it and let it burn away. And so it was. No one cared :v:
I wish my school was that awesome.
I remember that a friend asked to borrow a pencil, so I slid mine over to him since he was out of arms reach. The point ended up slightly poking him causing him to say "ow". Both me and him were sent to the main office and given detentions.

What in the fuck?
Ive seen someone attempt to stab another with a butter knife at my school and absolutely nobody cared, and there was staff who clearly saw it.
Quick, we need to start banning pencils before something this terrible happens again!
This Zero tolerance Bullshit is really starting to piss me off.
This is what i said earlier today in a thread on fast threads
Im a pacifist. So i never started fights. As in i never throw the punches. But i got beat up multiple times in middle school. Even though i did not lay a finger on the guy i still got 5 days out of school suspension. He attacked me because one of his friend randomly gave me a crappy made picture of a mustang. I thought nothing of it and ripped it up and threw it away. Minute later i got tackled and get pummeled. I had no idea wtf was going on. And i still got the same punishment as the guy who attacked me. Fucking zero tolerance is bullshit
I got a detention for burping today.

hol yshit
When I was in elementary school I hooked a rubber band on the front of a crayon box, then pulled it back with a pencil like a crossbow and let go
It went flying all the way across the room, and hit a metal tray with a loud clang. If that thing had hit anyone it probably would have embedded itself a bit because I had just sharpened it
Basically it's easier to use a pencil as a gun then to figure how to pretend that it is one

True that, wish I was smart enough to do that when I signed up 2 years ago :v:
because everyone is getting gun-crazy right now i would have told the teacher to fuck off, i had a teacher threaten to get me suspended when i was playing cards, i pulled out the handbook showed her the fucking rules on gambling and she backed the hell off when she knew i wasn't stupid. most of this random shit happens because the kids dont push back or the parents let the school do it
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
zero tollerance is the worst policy schools could ever implement, mine had it and it was bullshit, if you wanted to fuck up somebody just punch them and let you both get suspended, it'll screw him up more than you
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
in my opinion, if you want to stop bullying, just hit back, if you keep putting up a fight the bully will eventually go to someone else, zero tollerance anti-bully shit doesn't work
How come whenever a teacher does something that slightly pisses off a parent they get fucking fired
But when the principal does something that pisses off every parent of every child in the whole fucking school along with anyone who hears about it, he not only gets off scott free but he still gets to go through with it?
This is what's wrong with American schools. Administration is too highly paid and untouchable. We need a way for parents to vote a principal or someone on the school board out of office.
this does exist, there are districts where parents can declare the school officials incompetent and take over, the type of people who have time to do this kinda crap are themseves worse than the faculty they ousted
The school is moronic for thinking the 2nd grader has the capacity to understand and deploy actual violence. If he did, it is a tremendous failure on the part of the parents.
The 2nd grader is probably just pretending a gun because boys think guns are cool, guns are masculine image for boys, he probably saw laser guns on Saturday morning cartoons.
In my high school, a guy I knew got expelled for stabbing another person in the ear with pencil for (from what I heard) telling him to shut up.
Thank god he got expelled, I didn't like him.
I think the problem is ignorance of how a developing child's mind actually works and what it is (and not is) susceptible to. America (and much of the world, really) seems to be in this state of constant panic over children. Just look at kid's shows and movies these days. They're safe and fluffy as shit compared to what they had in the 80s/early 90s. Half in the bag (a couple of guys reviewing movies) touched upon this recently:

In 7th grade I wrote down the name of a DDR song, and got expelled for it being a "bomb threat".
I was 13. In 7th grade. Even after showing the principal and the police the song, they still were calling me a juvenile terrorist....
I remember a friend getting in trouble for pretending to shoot a teacher with an imaginary gun. Fun times.

Why does this type of thing never result in lawsuits?
When I was in Primary School, me and a friend used to draw pictures of his little brother dying in gruesome fashions. My punishment? Being told not to do it again. Other than that... nothing.
It still taught me not to do it, because it was explained that it wasn't very nice, and I understood their viewpoint.
I used to get yelled at for making guns with my hands, but I never got suspended over it. It was also fucking retarded getting yelled at for that back then, and it's still fucking retarded now.
You're State doesn't have a shitty website and praises itself on good government and stability..
Its not even a real state, it is a commonwealth.
When I was in the 4th grade, everyday in the free time we had before the buses came, me and my friend Brandon would take a sheet of paper and take turns drawing soldiers and 'bad guys' attacking eachother in a lot of cool ways (my favorite was the time I drew a soldier with a guitar and he defeated all of the bad guys with the power of rock).
We had been doing this for months, we had fun and we were never interrupted, but one day my teacher came by while we were drawing and she took the paper away and called our parents in for a parent-teacher conference.
I had to stay after and wait for my dad, when he arrived, my dad my teacher and I all sat down at her desk and she explained to him what I was drawing and showed him the picture.
He grabbed the picture and looked it over for a few seconds, when he was done he put it down, grabbed my hand, stood up, looked my teacher in the eye and said:
"This is ridiculous, do not waste my time again with this insignificant stuff, call me when he does something that's actually worth calling me in from work for."
He then bought me ice-cream, it was a good day.
Here in finland we made a hangmans knot, put it on a guys neck, threw the rope over a tree branch and pulled him up.
The teacher just said "there, there boys, stop that would you?"

Im not even joking.
Yes we were dumb.
