If Google is accidentally pulling off this stuff, I wonder what kind of crap I'm getting from MSN.

This story has been so fucking sensationalized. This is the equivalent of walking down the street with a tape recorder, and some lunatic is standing in his yard shouting all of his personal information. There was no "stealing" involved.
More like [img_thumb]http://www.fahad.com/pics/google_tisp_2.jpg[/img_thumb] Am i right or what?
Oh god lol. I remembered that

But I am dependent on using their software, so...
If a company is stealing my data I rather it be Google then some other company
Stop making a big deal they didnt really "steal" anything holy fuck Seriously calm down
This doesn't change the fact that it's morally reprehensible.
So it's wrong to record people who are shouting things in public?
itt people didn't read the thread and say "WAHH GOOGLE ARE EVIL"
Google is just generally creepy as fuck though, so it's kinda justified.
So it's wrong to record people who are shouting things in public?
It's taking advantage of idiots. And old people are tricked very easily when it comes to the internet. I'm sure they're a large demographic here.
The thing that most people don't seem to remember is that google already have a lot of information like this on a lot of people, and do not need to go around capturing wireless networks to get it. If google really wanted to do something bad with peoples personal information they would not go through the hassle of hoping they collect something, they would mine the data (including peoples emails obviously) they hold on people.
Google is just generally creepy as fuck though, so it's kinda justified.
true true but the retards on this site are so quick to jump on the bandwagon and scream blasphemy at everything/everyone just because the news overemphasizes on everything and make the most petty accidental events seem like murder
I fucking hate google
I fucking hate google
jesus christ. just... get the fuck out. go. get out.
What are they going to do, log into your facebook and change details, a big corporation like Google isnt going to do anything with the stuff.
What are they going to do, log into your facebook and change details, a big corporation like Google isnt going to do anything with the stuff.
they picked up some unsecure wifi signals and their contents. it's the users fault. the trucks use wireless signals to send picture information back to google/keyhole for GOOGLE STREET VIEW -- you know what that is, right? btw post isn't directed at you raptor; just for whoever is reading this

So are quite surprised right now and still believe someone had to do something incredibly malicious to get to those packets.
I'd use a service other than Google if there was one that was as good. Bing didn't give me a good first impression, but after seeing this I might start using it.
I'd use a service other than Google if there was one that was as good. Bing didn't give me a good first impression, but after seeing this I might start using it.
Bing still sucks in my opinion.
Bing still sucks in my opinion.
Google the same thing and compare the 2 - Google always gets what i need in the 1st 2 to 3 links
I love how everyone makes such a huge issue about it. Do you really think outside of google that life is as private as you think? You'd be amazed at what people can find out about you.

I don't really care either. Neither do I hate google. I use their services and I love them. If google sniffs random unsecured wifi, be it so...
[img_thumb]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/tick.png[/img_thumb]
Not concerned due to my network being secured.
