Jaws is the only horror movie that scared me.
[release]A tourist enjoying a swim yesterday off of Fish Hoek beach in Cape Town, South Africa, was suddenly pulled under the surf and dragged out to sea by what onlookers have called a "dinosaur-sized shark," according to several media reports. Iafrica said there is little chance of finding the tourist, 37-year-old Lloyd Skinner of Zimbabwe. National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson Ian Klopper said, "The shark attacked him three times. It didn't bite him and let him go." But then, "It came back and carried on eating" the victim. Skinner was said to have been about 328 feet from the shore, alone and farther out than other swimmers, when the attack happened. Witnesses say he was about chest deep in warm water, adjusting his goggles, when he was pulled under at 3 PM on Tuesday. A search for his remains continues today, although an ominous patch of blood was visible, and Skinner's swimming goggles have been recovered. While the shark has not yet been identified, most suspect it was a great white, based on its size, the way it swam toward the victim and the fact that other great whites have been spotted near the beach in recent days. British visitor Phyllis McCartain told the Cape Times newspaper, "We saw the shark come back twice. It had the man's body in its mouth, and his arm was in the air. Then the sea was full of blood." Normally sirens go off at the South African beach, warning the swimmers, surfers and bathers to get out of the water when a shark is spotted. But it is my understanding that no warning preceded Skinner's attack. Word has been out in the local community, however, that the waters off the beach have been unsafe for a while. Many locals say they will continue to go in the water, since the chance of being attacked by a shark of any kind is still relatively slim. According to the International Shark Attack File, from 1990 to 2008 there were 9 fatalities due to shark attack in the waters off of South Africa. Seventy-eight non-fatal attacks also occurred in the region over the same period. :ohdear: We're dead.
Um, what the fuck? And they still opened that up to people?
Their just sharks. People over react to much about sharks. You wouldn't go frolicking around a lions den and be surprised when one of them bites your leg off. Why should it be any different with sharks? It's the same thing just different animal and different environment. When you step foot in a body of water you are entering a foreign environment, an environment were we are not king. When you enter the water you should sign a hypothetical waver saying "I understand that I am putting my life at risk by going in these waters, and that I will not hold the sharks responsible for acting out their instinct that has kept them alive for 400 billion years."

Tiger sharks and bull sharks. Anything else won't bite you unless you dress up in a seal outfit and flap around like a spaz.
Um, what the fuck? And they still opened that up to people?
Awesome Anime, Awesome Name.
There are only two sharks you SHOULD be afraid of. Tiger sharks and bull sharks. Most shark "attacks" are provoked by the human, then it's the shark that gets punished. Don't treat them like mean eating monsters, but don't treat them like puppy dogs ether.
For some reason I thought someone died on that backlot tour of Universal Studios when they take you through the Jaws exhibit.
It was probably a larger than life bottle nosed dolphin and now that guys in the dolphins under sea lair get nose fucked by the dolphin. I figure I get my share of silly 10 year old humor if everyone else is going lol JEWUUUUZ EXXXXXDEEEEE
For some reason I thought someone died on that backlot tour of Universal Studios when they take you through the Jaws exhibit.
I thought this at first too, considering he included a picture of the ride in the OP, but then I read the article.
And for awesomeness, some pictures of a Megalodon:
Ahhhhhhh fuck. That's scary as shit. If I were that diver right there, I would find SOME WAY to kill myself... Fuck letting that thing get me. Christ that's huge :P
I have a fear of large bodies of water, for this exact reason.
I have a fear of large bodies of water, for this exact reason.
Yeah, me too. I don't want to lose my goggles D:

You'd probably be in more danger of getting bruised as his rectum squeezes you off than you would of it actually biting you.
