You're making it sound like that'll require effort in the first place.
Don't these republican politicians only go with what's popular? I remember when CISPA or whatever was going on last year or 2 years ago, a lot of republicans came out against it because they saw how hated it was
Sort of reflects the notion that Democratic governments ought to be supporting the desires of the majority of the population

Well always pandering to what the majority of the population wants is bad for a democracy. Politicians should follow through with their morals and platforms that they were elected on instead of using polls or studies to vote in a way that gets them the next election.
Democrats do as well. Obama is most noticable in my opinion.
it's called populism and it's how you succeed at ~democracy~
Hold up hold up hold up... You mean THE Rick Perry? As in this asshole?

I don't know a whole lot about Rick Perry but what I do know is that running for President has made many, very reasonable people look batshit crazy because they have to go either full left or full right on their views to receive enough support from their respective political parties whereas when running for something like governor people are able to keep their proverbial feet on the ground.

You heard it here first, folks. Obamacare is an attack on marriage.
Hey, it worked for Ron Paul

That is not what populism is. Politicians only supporting only whats popular at the time is what gets countries thrusted into emotion driven wars.

I don't think so, Republicans are known for being stubborn in their ways more so than going with the flow.
Obama only just recently did the same thing as Rick Perry, after being pretty adamant about not wanting to legalize it.
Oh I should Mention, Rick Perry was a Democrat from 1984 to 1989
