well if someone just came up to your grandma and said "fuck you old cunt" it's not like that's okay just because of freedom of speech lol, it's still a bad thing to do and "wrong"
[editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
he can call people bitches and cunts all he likes but it is still wrong and should be discouraged
(that's what i mean when i say its wrong)
then that person would be a dumb twat but I wouldn't try to get him deported for it.

yeah obviously but if you protest you are actively invading people's day. If I'm holding a sign that says something about wage inequality and I say to a guy that the distribution of wealth is uneven and he tells me to go fuck myself I personally understand where they are coming from

again, i don't condone the woman's actions

there's a difference between getting why they did it and if they was right or wrong.
Okay, I think due to lack of sleep, fatigue, and language barrier, let me state what I've been trying to say:
Tyler's a fucking asshole, but she's dumb for going this concert and being shocked when he called her out. Nothing happened to her; she's fine. He said some things on stage, and now somehow we've all been drawing into an argument over rape and victim blaming. She could've handled the situation better, and yes, Tyler shouldn't have gotten so upset, but he's there to preform, not debate about why he should be able to preform his shitty songs or not.
She should've filed a complaint with whoever lets people preform in Australia.
Nothing happened to her, nothing will happen to her, so it's all fine.
again, i don't condone the woman's actions

and again, the right to say what you want supersedes being nice.
i'm not arguing that.
i'm not arguing that.
well then you're arguing arbitrary morals which are completely subjective
well then you're arguing arbitrary morals which are completely subjective
yes usually when arguing about things it helps for them to be subjective
[editline]9th June 2013[/editline]
arguing about objective things like whether or not something is 100cm tall gets boring really fast

not what I was getting at and you know it. good job taking the opportunity to be a snarky fucker though.
the point is that you nor anyone else gets to decide someone else's behavior as long as that behavior doesn't directly impede on anyone else (e.g. trying to get another's visa revoked)
there's a difference between getting why they did it and if they was right or wrong.
the problem is it's a grey area where neither party is in the right and it's just about determining who was 'more wrong' and it's this sort of situation which people get a bit too entrenched.
Honestly I think Tyler was the more wrong one, because I try to love most people and I don't like the idea of attacking someone who hasn't actually harmed you. At the same time being a protester means you should have a thick skin (in my opinion) and you shouldn't try and persecute a person for what they are saying unless it is legit illegal and in which case there's no argument that you should do it.
And with all honesty, I do hope she's okay, having a whole crowd cheering that you're a cunt when you haven't even done anything bad could take the wind out of anyone's sails
not what I was getting at and you know it. good job taking the opportunity to be a snarky fucker though.

well yeah obviously we don't have control over anyone else's behavior but that's not really the point here? vedi is arguing about whether tyler was right to scream and shout at the lady in the crowd, and you have been contributing to this argument so i don't get why you're all of a sudden talking about subjectivity as if it somehow nullifies what everyone else is saying? people are arguing about whether or not tyler was morally right to yell at the lady in the crowd, the fact that its subjective is really meaningless to point out
i think this was a pretty bad call on tyler's part. she's protesting him promoting hatred of women and he responds by saying "call her a bitch". kind of a dumb way to make your case.
well then you're arguing arbitrary morals which are completely subjective
yes I am
i think this was a pretty bad call on tyler's part. she's protesting him promoting hatred of women and he responds by saying "call her a bitch". kind of a dumb way to make your case.
I really dont think Tyler cares about his "case" as much as you guys think
I really dont think Tyler cares about his "case" as much as you guys think
yeah yeah wolf gang don't give a fuck etc. it still makes him an asshole. i mean i like his production and his rapping's alright but he makes some dumb decisions and the whole golf wang bullshit isn't anything new or interesting
I really dont think Tyler cares about his "case" as much as you guys think
well it's like with the whole Tegan and Sara debacle a while back, and it's another reason I'm don't agree with what Tyler did. He's just said it for the same reason a shit comedian makes a dead baby joke, it gets a rise. It's a really cheap move
well yeah obviously we don't have control over anyone else's behavior but that's not really the point here? vedi is arguing about whether tyler was right to scream and shout at the lady in the crowd, and you have been contributing to this argument so i don't get why you're all of a sudden talking about subjectivity as if it somehow nullifies what everyone else is saying? people are arguing about whether or not tyler was morally right to yell at the lady in the crowd, the fact that its subjective is really meaningless to point out
and I said I wasn't trying to go there. I misspoke. sorry
odd future: kings of false controversy, hype, unoriginallity, and bullshit. completely full of themselves. rap for middle class white kids. how are you gonna try to tell me these guys are hard when they're on the same label as a adele and vampire weekend? what a joke
[editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
MAYBE you could consider their lyrics subversive or ironic if this was 1989. sorry, you're a bit late. blows my mind that anyone that claims to even be mildly progressive can't see through their bullshit
this is a little late but OF have their own label
i think the worst thing about all this is that some of his devoted followers are probably gonna think this was a cool and subversive thing to do and take after it
[editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
this is a little late but OF have their own label
it's a vanity label for sony and RED distribution, whose all-star artists include "against me!" and "a day to remember" (and also radiohead wtF??)
yeah yeah wolf gang don't give a fuck etc. it still makes him an asshole. i mean i like his production and his rapping's alright but he makes some dumb decisions and the whole golf wang bullshit isn't anything new or interesting
its pretty entertaining for the other half of the world who get a kick out of people being offended
Punch the bitch in her tits.
i think this is ridiculous because itll normalise this stupid behavior even further and just further cement the fact that certain people can do and say whatever they want with no consequences no matter how despicable it is.
the fact that chris brown still has a musical career makes me pretty cynical
Hint: standing up for feminism at a tyler the creator show is pretty bitchy
the feminist campaigner doing her job? what a fucking bitch
so tyler said it so you think you can say it too without sounding 12??? think again
i think this is ridiculous because itll normalise this stupid behavior even further and just further cement the fact that certain people can do and say whatever they want with no consequences no matter how despicable it is.

i dont think its because he is a celebrity
it is because at a public event she came and protested, probably annoying him, as well as try and disrupt his international tour

not only can they get away with it, they make money off of it
also "feminist campaigner" and "rap concert" dont mix too well
no its not that
it is because at a public event she came and protested, probably annoying him, as well as try and disrupt his international tour
so the fuck what
what kind of child does this?
if you did this in any other job, you'd get canned because you made everyone look so stupid in this situation
but because of w/e we have people, even on this damn forum, protecting him and i find that disgusting and it makes me feel super-uncomfortable
not only can they get away with it, they make money off of it

hes basically earning money by being shitty about women
if feminists didnt attack this they wouldnt be worth the word feminism, this woman is helping her fellow women in the best way she can

well imagine owning an opinion column in a magazine or on a website that says something crude involving women, what if a protester went in the office and started protesting there?
it seems a bit weird that you are looking at this differently because its a celebrity
well imagine owning an opinion column in a magazine or on a website that says something crude involving women, what if a protester went in the office and started protesting there?
office isnt a public space, a theatre is
