The building itself will take a staggering $1.2 billion to build
We paid more than that for a barely functional RFID ticket system for a relatively small public transport system.
much better use of 1.2 billion
This isn't new.
No it's actually Jeddah
That's in a completely different country
Alright, but the rich fucks that doesn't care about anything else than showing off their wealth still stands.

That TV mast just looks silly on there.
It's like somebody added it in on paint.
I have a feeling someone's going to fly a plane into it. And that someone is going to be a crazy Christian, judging by these Fox News comments:

No, it's just a group of people secretly working together to conceal the truth from you.
I hate pointy skyscrapers. They just bypass real engineering by using a cone structure for stability.
The Petronas Towers would like a word with you.
By the way, according to Fox News this is built by the bin Laden family.
Considering it's in Saudi Arabia it will probably just like Half-Life 2
Except there wasn't even one single character of Arabian decent in the series.

How do you know that? Most of them were wearing masks.

The citizens and rebels did not wear masks.

You have a point, but I was referring to the unmasked characters that you meet.

Can you imagine?
is this one also built by slaves like most of the stuff in dubai?
Yeah but I doubt this building has a glass floor area like the CN tower
What about the disc shaped wart, looks pretty much the place for a glass floor
Fuck all these shiny, slick, and silvery towers. Art deco and American architecture of the early 20th century have was more warmth and character.
If only American architects and investors had the will to build two hundred story versions of the Empire State building.
Greedy rich fucks. How about doing something to benefit humanity next time?

all we need then is a tournament of unreal proportions
that sounds like a really really really bad and stupid idea
Even though this is a fuckload of money that they are wasting it would be an amazing sight and would gain many tourists, in just a couple of years that money could be earned back and then could be used for other things to benefit humans. Most people who don't like the designs, I'm just saying, when you build something that tall you have to take into account wind and possibly storms. It's much safer to have the tips of the building incredibly small.
Plus something that is simple and rectangular has no emotions in the design. Even if it does mean the world becoming a dictatorship and the building being the central point of control. I would travel all the way to Saudi Arabia to see this and go up in it and I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to see it.
Things like these are always amazing ideas on paper and really make people become interested in it but to see that kind of massive structure or type of thing is beyond amazing. It's just like seeing earth from space, it looks amazing in the pictures but think of how much bigger it seems when it crowds your entire view and your thousands of miles away. Go Saudi Arabia.
Holy shit the main contractor is the Saudi Bin Ladin Group :v:.

Yeah, Osama Bin Laden is one of hundreds of sons of the guy who owns an extremely successful construction company, among other things.

I'm amused that on one hand you had Osama, who was a terrorist, and on the other hand you have another part of the family that are contractors for big building projects.

But yeah, because the bin Laden family has that company I bet that's how he knew where to attack the WTC, and how effective it would be. Before the attack he talked about the fuselage melting the steel beams - he knew exactly what he was doing.
