Which is, in my opinion, preferable to stories like this which pop up with frightening regularity.
Yes but that turns into cases where I'm not allowed to own a device that could assist me in defending my home and my family.
Which is, in my opinion, preferable to stories like this which pop up with frightening regularity. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] Congratulations on COMPLETELY missing the point.
America is a huge country with tons of people, there are going to be a lot of murders regardless. I do support making it harder to be allowed to obtain guns though.
Um no. Blame the idiot who had the idea to shoot someone in the back of the head for no reason.
Why not blame both? Hadn't he had a gun, the woman would probably be alive. If the man hadn't been weird in his head, he wouldn't have shot her.
Why not blame both? Hadn't he had a gun, the woman would probably be alive. If the man hadn't been weird in his head, he wouldn't have shot her.
And had she not asked for help, the opportunity wouldn't have come up. Had the wreck not happened, she wouldn't have had to ask for help. Had she not been driving, there'd be no wreck. This can go on forever.
To be fair, who else immediately knew this was in America?
I was thinking Texas but obviously was wrong.
What do you use a gun for other than shooting others?
Hunting? Target Practice? Defending yourself? What do you use knives for other than stabbing others.
Yep. I always keep my handy gun ready for any problem on hand. If I need to open my beer? I just take out my trusty gun-tool and pop that sucker off.
I know this is a joke, but the makarov is surprisingly(Or not so, since it's russian) good at opening beer bottles.
A gun is a tool like anything else
You have to take into account how deadly that tool is.
Again, no they don't, guns are literally nothing more than pieces of moving metal, it's the people that influence these things
You have to take into account how deadly those pieces of metal are.
You have to take into account how deadly that tool is. You have to take into account how deadly those pieces of metal are.
A sledgehammer is a tool, would probably do as much if not more damage in this situation. Almost all tools are deadly.
Just take away the guy's guns and put him back in his house problem solved.
Just take away the guy's guns and put him back in his house problem solved.
Or lock him up for first degree murder.
A sledgehammer is a tool, would probably do as much if not more damage in this situation. Almost all tools are deadly.
Are you trying to argue that a sledgehammer is as deadly as a gun? I get what you're saying but this is so laggy for me to post so will probably stop.
Said absolutely no study ever on the matter. Did you know that simply owning this piece of moving metal can increase your likelihood of suicide of up 2-9 times the normal rate depending on how easy your access to it is? If its so inert why does it have this influence? There have been loads of studies on this. You're just in denial.
Your line of reasoning is fucking retarded. The reason why the suicide rates increase is because those who decide to commit suicide simply have more options. Gun legality does not affect whether or not you choose to commit suicide and you're a fucking tool if you think it does.
Or lock him up for first degree murder.
If he doesn't have the gun he's harmless. No point in wasting time locking up something without the capacity to kill.
If he doesn't have the gun he's harmless. No point in wasting time locking up something without the capacity to kill.
But he shot someone in cold blood.
If he doesn't have the gun he's harmless. No point in wasting time locking up something without the capacity to kill.
No but there is a point in locking up someone who committed fucking murder
What a barbaric country
No but there is a point in locking up someone who committed fucking murder

But he shot someone in cold blood.
Oh shit, my bad. I forgot that guns don't turn people into murderers.
If he doesn't have the gun he's harmless. No point in wasting time locking up something without the capacity to kill.
If he doesn't have a gun, he's harmless at range. Don't be implying that the presence of a gun ultimately decides whether someone is or is not capable of inflicting harm.
If he doesn't have the gun he's harmless. No point in wasting time locking up something without the capacity to kill.
do you d do you understand how anything works like anything... ???
Starting to question my support for gun rights
Starting to question my support for gun rights
Why would you ever question your support for the purest form of freedom on the planet? You some kind of commie?
Starting to question my support for gun rights
You should question your country letting people like this buy guns, not guns in its entirety.
Your line of reasoning is fucking retarded. The reason why the suicide rates increase is because those who decide to commit suicide simply have more options. Gun legality does not affect whether or not you choose to commit suicide and you're a fucking tool if you think it does.
Thats not what he was saying. You made that up yourself. Depressed and suicidal people are much more likely to go through with it when the solution is as easy as pulling a trigger.
all gun owners=/=murderers end of story, holy shit
I like how you guys think banning guns will magically stop people from being batshit crazy and killing others for no reason.
Can you guys stop with your gun debate for one second and try to look at something else here? considering it's practically the second time this happened in the same area in a short amount of time, what the fuck is wrong with that area that has it so the people who live there get scared/defensive against people who knock on their doors? There is something fucked up in that area. Also what the fuck is with the original articles title? Once Again, a Black Person Is Shot and Killed While Looking for Help Ummmm what the fuck does this have to do with her being black? and it goes on about the stand your ground law which again has nothing to do with this as it wasn't self defence AND fucken compares it to the Florida stand your ground law which isn't relevant at all. Plus the comments have people hating on white people and crap for no reason other then the article making it seem like she died only because she was black.
all gun owners=/=murderers end of story, holy shit
Out of interest, do you have a figure in mind for an unacceptable level of gun murder (as clearly you don't think it's been reached yet) [editline]7th November 2013[/editline]
I like how banning guns will magically stop people from being batshit and killing others for no reason.
Said no one But it would dramatically reduce the numbers
Out of interest, do you have a figure in mind for an unacceptable level of gun murder (as clearly you don't think it's been reached yet) [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] Said no one But it would dramatically reduce the numbers
Not really, I don't think crazy people like this would just give up there gun. They'll just kill more people.
You should question your country letting people like this buy guns, not guns in its entirety.
I'm a gun owner and a vehement defender of my right and others' rights to own firearms, but shit like this is only getting more frequent. The fact is that if this guy didn't have a gun, this woman and many others like her would probably still be alive. I don't think a blanket ban is the right solution, but a license requiring a stringent psych evaluation and gun safety course would be worth implementing even if it doesn't take them away from people who already own them.
