Retarded driver that injured cyclist while texting: "I just don't care"

Really sad people care this little about each other
Really sad to hear some idiot hardly cared about the lives of cyclist and cared more about her stupid dents she caused herself...
Only retards:
- Drink and drive
- Text and drive
What about snapchat and drive?
In a perfect world, she'd get a punishment that fit her stupidity. I'm thinking baseball bat to the spine...
are you real?
Hello, degenerated product of the 21st century!
In 200 years either everyone will be like this or they'll think everyone was like this now and scoff about what barbarians we were.
I'm pretty sure every generation has thought this and the same ratio of assholes to good people is pretty much still intact.
Send her to Detroit.

As a motorcyclist I honestly don't know how he managed that without dropping it, unless he's not wearing gloves or something.

No send her to Oakland, Detroit is bad enough.
As a motorcyclist I honestly don't know how he managed that without dropping it, unless he's not wearing gloves or something.
No gloves and I shifted up without clutch. Many years of motor cross and riding pays off ;D

My point was that cases like this will be what people remember about our era - obsessed with our devices to such a ridiculous degree. Like how everyone thinks everyone in the 70s was a trucker or a hippie, or a jingoist in the 40s...
are you real?
I feel pretty real.
That quote doesn't accurately express my opinion, though.
Although, you are more likely to empathize with a person who shares your condition. Both the cyclist and the woman would have a fractured spine, so she'd be very unlikely to say "I don't care." In fact, I think she'd care a great deal.
But, again, that's cruel. We can't go around hitting people with baseball bats or shattering spines. I'm not saying we should, either. Mark that.
The problem in this incident is that the woman got away with no physical injuries. She got a slap on the wrist. She has no emotional connection to the incident, other than some dents on her car. In a primal way, why should she care? If she had sustained some life-altering injury, like the cyclist, she would be emotionally-invested, and would therefore care. Add a dash of psychosis, and you've got a recipe for... well, this.
(I'm not insane. I promise.)
What kind of asshole cares more about her car than a person? How fucking nuts do you have to be to say something like that
How about this?

I don't understand how he even managed to get his phone out of his pocket. It's hard enough in a car, on a bike it's 10 times harder
never get into a position of power
Stop telling people never to get into a position of power. If thats where their life leads them, then so be it. I've been told many times never to get into a position of power.. but I'm in one anyway.. and the world nor my life nor the lives of those around me have collapsed
Gotta ask, what's your "position of power"?

subreddit moderator
a fitting punishment would be to send her car to a destruction derby
Unless you're too busy texting to realize the light has been green and hold everyone behind up.
This is a much less severe offense of course

Easy I had my gloves in my jacket pockets and stood up on my pegs to loosen my pants pockets.
There's something up here. Provided the story holds true, she should've been charged with dangerous driving causing death or serious injury - an indictable offence in Victoria, liable for 5 years of imprisonment.
Not only that, if she was found guilty of that offence, the court is required to impose a minimum disqualification of 18 months (not just a suspension).
There is something up here which is not being told.
I hope she burns in hell. Is that too harsh? Me thinks not because there is something seriously wrong when people are so self centered that they disregard other people's safety.
If I ever hit someone while behind the wheel I'd only think "Holy shit I might of just killed someone." A few dents on my car would be the last thing to come to mind.

Ooooooh this makes my blood boil.
There's only one real punishment.
Send her to drive in Russia
It's like burnout meets gta meets mad max's icy cousin. It's the most amazing sounding thing then you actually drive there.
She almost broke a mans spine due to her idiocy, and she only gets a 9 month suspension on her license?
Revoke that shit forever, she's a danger to everyone on the streets.

Female privilege.
You know what the perfect punishment would be?
Give her car to the cyclist.
even better:
convert her car into two bicycles.

Yeah, because noooobody in any previous generation ever did anything pointlessly cruel and sociopathic, right?

It mind boggling when it you see someone from a primarily English speaking country do that mistake
I consider myself to be a huge fucking sociopath,
No you aren't.
