There's something up here. Provided the story holds true, she should've been charged with dangerous driving causing death or serious injury - an indictable offence in Victoria, liable for 5 years of imprisonment. Not only that, if she was found guilty of that offence, the court is required to impose a minimum disqualification of 18 months (not just a suspension). There is something up here which is not being told.

I hope she burns in hell. Is that too harsh? Me thinks not because there is something seriously wrong when people are so self centered that they disregard other people's safety.

If I ever hit someone while behind the wheel I'd only think "Holy shit I might of just killed someone." A few dents on my car would be the last thing to come to mind.
