If you wanna be really anal, jail should be spelt gaol
As a motorcyclist I honestly don't know how he managed that without dropping it, unless he's not wearing gloves or something.
Parking lot maybe?
The title made me think that she texted the words 'I dont care' the second she hit the biker
Oh boy
It is amazing when there is someone so stupid they actually obtain a drivers license.
You can't be serious. Oh you cannot be fucking serious. Right? Oh jeez...
What about snapchat and drive?
Pretty much texting while driving anyways.
What a BITCH.
Maybe the judge "Shouldn't care" as far as how much time she gets to spend in jail.
Fucking bitch.

I spend my spare time on facepunch. That's the maximum amount of anal I can bring up.

You can see the reflection, he's not wearing a glove.

Texting or driving is bad but sometimes (at least here in the US) cyclists do the stupidest shit and cry when they get hurt. I've seen people on bikes swerve and ride through cars at red lights and shit. Fucking idiots. I can see why she doesn't care.
(Your boxes make me stronger)
i firmly believe that declarations like this should be sufficient evidence for being placed in a mental hospital to treat sociopathy because it's so blatantly obvious in these cases that these people aren't all there in one way or another

That's a completely legit thing for a cyclist to do. It's pretty important that cyclists get to the front of traffic queues at red lights and such for their, and the other road users, safety. "Swerving" between cars is safe if the cars aren't moving and the cyclist doesn't do anything particularly dumb.
One of my dad's friend was killed by some jackass that hit him while he was out biking. The fact this bitch cares more about her car instead of the man whose life she just ruined infuriates me.

FUNFACT: the police chopper used in Winnipeg has "GAOL" in its callsign: C-GAOL
I thought she was texting "I just don't care"

upset just because your spine is fractured and the doctor says you might never walk again what are you a fucking pussy bro
She isn't in jail. Relatively small ($4,500) fine considering what happened and nine month suspension.
Just a little bit too lenient if you ask me.
Given her attitude I hope the victim decides to take action :v:
$4,500. Jesus. I hope she at least had to pay his medical bills. He probably racked up at least ten times that in debt thanks to her.

Nevermind, this was in Australia, where getting hurt doesn't mean entering lifelong debt.

Just as long as they don't scratch my side mirrors...
I had that happen once, and was very upset.

What about serving in traffic and riding really fast in busy parking lots?
I'm saying that alot of cyclists put themselves in danger and complain when they get hurt.

Unless cars are now going >10mph in parking lots, cyclists zipping around those aren't a danger to drivers who are paying attention (they usually aren't). Cyclists know they are squishy meatbags with no real protection, if they are putting themselves in stupid positions they're just shit humans to begin with and would probably be just as bad in a car.
Also are we talking standstill traffic, slow traffic or normal speed traffic here? Because the first one is pretty safe if the cyclist is careful not to ding a car or whatever, the other two are increasingly stupid.

I never understand how drivers don't pay attention. Or anyone in traffic really.
It's really hard for me to not be paying attention to the cars and roads and busses and bikers and cyclists. They're not that hard to keep track of.
City driving is shit and stressful imo but it's still weird to me to think people don't pay attention in their vehicles.
Why can't they just make it so that cell phones and other communication devices don't work in moving vehicles(unless you need it for your job of course) so shit like this doesn't happen.
This woman should be forced to pay for the entirety of the man's medical bills, have her car repossessed, and banned from ever owning one again. It probably wouldn't be bad for her to receive a mental health evaluation either.

Pretty much. This happened in Victoria, Australia. Victorians are covered by the Transport Accident Commission. In order to register your car, you're required to pay a TAC charge, which is compulsory third party insurance, in which if you have an accident, and a person is injured, their medical bills are covered by the Government.
The person not at fault is essentially insured, regardless of if the driver at fault was drunk, doing something illegal or a sociopath. We're lucky in a way.
