greenlight is about popularity not quality
If you pass greenlight, it isn't automatically added, you still have to negotiate with Valve [editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
I'm not sure if I agree with this. They have far more offensive games on steam. Sexual content is offensive to some, so they can just put it in a special hidden section of the steam store. Problem solved. Not the apple appstore.
Wtf. What game is more blatantly sexed up that this? And once again, what, the app store has a 0 tolerance policy for porn or anything sexy
It's pretty clear in the submission rules that porn isn't allowed, and this is quite obviously pornographic.
I don't understand how some people attempt to justify this with something along the lines of "eh, looks bland and boring anyway" - that's not a valid reason to take it off Greenlight and not Valve's reason either. Not the point of this either. Some people would probably fine with it. Maybe not, who knows. There's plenty of trash on Greenlight, but it's the community's job to pass judgment. I think it's more of a game culture thing than an American culture phenomenon, tho the gun cult over there has led to plenty of Hardboiled games and FPS that shape the Western industry quite a bit. Violence in general seems to be more accepted than sexual topics, no matter how immaturely either of them is handled. Doesn't mean you have to support that trend tho. If anything, encourage games of that kind any maybe someone will actually raise some sort of quality bar. Does Greenlight allow its uploaders to put their stuff in an 18+ category or something? Because I think they're gonna need it sooner or later anyway.
Doesn't longevity play a factor in being removed as well? There's no replayable factor such as scoreboards, multiplayer, and randomly generated objects.

Watched the trailer for the game. Here's the funny thing, I wasn't impressed with the female characters, I was impressed by the pre-rendered backgrounds and the western comic style of it. I thought it could possibly be a good RE remake. They're just tools/tips.
Steam defense brigade arriving in 3...2...1... Was it any other company everyone would go ape, but being Valve it's understandable and ok. Just watch. Also: Postal 2 is still on Greenlight, I don't need to add anything do I?
i know UGH stupid fuckin valvedrones supporting valves decision to not let a porn simulator onto their shop! fuck you valve!!
Was it any other company everyone would go ape, but being Valve it's understandable and ok. Just watch.
oh look it's this kind of post again I think there are more of these than people who actually do what the poster says they do
I think valve has better standards :v:
yeah, just add hats to the people in the porn and you're good to go
RIP in peace
Funny how people here claim that "Since there are games with gore in them, porn should be ok too". It's a completely different form of entertainment. Maturity has nothing to do with it. The gore games you play to have fun, dick around, play with your friends. The porn games you play to wank off, having a good time and nothing else. Steam sells games, not porn. If you want porn there are other places to get it.
Steam sells games, not porn. If you want porn there are other places to get it.
For free no less.
Isn't the point of a game to have a good time? Thus in line?
Porn is porn. Porn can be delivered through different mediums, but it's always porn.
You're telling me that's not going to set off any red flags for anyone? (It's only censored for the video)
While this is pretty terribly done, I don't see how it's any more offensive than, say, any of the extremely gory games currently on the market
While this is pretty terribly done, I don't see how it's any more offensive than, say, any of the current murder simulators on the market.
Because apparently a game is only a game aslong as you're having fun and not having a cheeky wank. Because that's not dumb logic at all lol.
Because apparently a game is only a game aslong as you're having fun and not having a cheeky wank. Because that's not dumb logic at all lol.
But they didn't remove it for the reason of "not a game" they removed it for "offensive material".
The porn games you play to wank off, having a good time and nothing else.
obviously you've never played porn games with your friends you should it's the best time you'll ever have
How is a natural human task offensive. I fail to understand.
Who cares if it's bad ? just don't vote for it, they still have all the right to have it there.
looks terrible
For a porn game, this is actually quite well-made, TBH
Steam defense brigade arriving in 3...2...1... Was it any other company everyone would go ape, but being Valve it's understandable and ok. Just watch. Also: Postal 2 is still on Greenlight, I don't need to add anything do I?
Postal 2 is a video game, that has no nudity. (Unless you mods it) Valve simply doesn't want porn on Steam.
no, only manhunt 1 2 is gone from all existence on the pc lets play a fun game, lets try to find a digital distrib that sells manhunt 2 or find a pirated copy [sp]you can't[/sp]
I've got a torrented copy on this computer. It wasn't that hard to find. (only because it's literally not available for purchase anywhere, please don't ban me.) But on the topic of the thread, it makes perfect sense to me. Remember when there was a HUGE media uproar about the ability to have sex in mass effect? Even though it was an extremely minor, not required, off-camera scene, The headlines still all said "NEW VIDEOGAME LETS YOUR KIDS HAVE ALIEN SEX!" Now if Valve allowed this on steam, "VIDEO GAME DISTRIBUTOR VALVE LETS YOUR KID DOWNLOAD GAMES TO PRACTCE HAVING SEX AND RAPING WOEMN!"
Witcher 2 has nudity in it... does that count?
The Witcher 2 is a video game, and there are other games on steam that have nudity. But there are no porn games on Steam, and they want to keep it that way.
looks terrible, i think valve was just being polite by not saying anything specific. which is a great point btw. apparently having dudes tear each other limb to limb with blood flying everywhere is less bothersome than static images of women doing racy stuff
That's a general issue with people's attitudes towards different types of content. It's not really relevant to whether or not Valve did the right thing. They don't want to be seen selling games based around trying to fuck hot bitches, that's what it looks like to me.
Steam defense brigade arriving in 3...2...1... Was it any other company everyone would go ape, but being Valve it's understandable and ok. Just watch. Also: Postal 2 is still on Greenlight, I don't need to add anything do I?
Postal 2 is actually a game.
Postal 2 is a video game, that has no nudity. (Unless you mods it) Valve simply doesn't want porn on Steam.
pretty sure the difference betwen postal 2 and this is that p2 is an actual game and this is just offensive non-game shit
So if a real game with sexual scenes in it, like Monster Girl Quest were to make its way to steam greenlight, do you think Valve would approve it?
if it's just porn then why the hell should they? seriously why would they let porn liter steam? Please actually think about this, because it's pretty simple as to why they wouldn't let steam become tosser heaven. Steam is for actual video games, not dominantly porn games. if it's a real game then, then why not? That's what they're there for!
-snip- I'm not going to get involved in yet another pointless argument
