His wife is a batshit fundamentalist, and while that in itself shouldn't matter, he actively just accepts her missives and pitched in on her pet projects, including an attempt to basically get Free Speech amended to gamergate levels of broken, and compulsory religious education in schools. 2. He is super bad at research as a categorical thing. His stance on Global Warming did more harm than good because he thought overselling would somehow do the trick, and we saw from horseshoe liberals this very election how well that method works, ever. 3. All cabinet members have to be approved by Congress. Trump is merely [I]nominating[/I] his cabinet, not giving out jobs. But as far as I know, it's rare for Congress to turn down any nominee for a newly elected president - and Congress is GOP held so Trump will get whomever he points to.
